    Well... except for Sweden '58...
    * ALL WORLD CUPS PLAYED ON EUROPE WERE WON BY AN EUROPEAN TEAM
    * ALL WORLD CUPS PLAYED OUTSIDE EUROPE WERE WON BY AN AMERICAN TEAM (And I refer to the continental view of america, not the US).
So, 9 WC played on Europe... 8 European champions
    This will stay like this
And if Germany wins almost half of them have been won by the home country...

If the country has an elite team and they host, it's almost a given they will win.

With home field being such a huge advantage, the WC should not be hosted so often by countries with elite Soccer Teams...should be played on a more neutral ground(IE a ty Soccer country)...Asia, Africa and North America...

Ok fair enough...so how about they make it so no country that has won a world cup in the past 20 years can host.

when was the last time home team won an EuroChamps?

how about just getting better refs, that won't protect the home team. South Korea got to semis on home ground.

Australia is a good choice...and after the next WC it'll be the only populated continent that has never hosted the WC.

that would be good alot of good stadiums but maybe not enough, New Zealand are improving facilities for the 2011 rugby world cup, so maybe Australia and New Zealand could be joint hosts!

    Dunno...I'm no Soccer expert here.

how about just getting better refs, that won't protect the home team. South Korea got to semis on home ground.

Better refs works for me...and once you figure out how to do that, you can tell every other pro sport in the world how to do it.

not a bad idea. Its not a long flight to NZ but the main issue is that soccer is not that big in New Zealand is it?

So much for Jogo Bonito... what a dissapointment! Brasil never played like the could have. They had all the potential in the world and who the knows why they didn't use it. Shame

Wait, someone said we're jealous of France?

Dude, I may be the most euro friendly American on this board - I'm planning to move there for a few years (Europe, not France) but if think America is jealous of France you're on ing crack.

I've got to say, this is a weak way to repay a bet you lost. Dude, you lost... fly a German flag without the " you" connotations to it - or be known as a sore loser forever.

Brasil is the most overated team in the world cup: no tactic, no defense, no midfield (only emerson) and Ronaldinho (the most overrated player, see, if the team doesn't play for him he is useless). With ghana they commit several mistakes, but ghana is ghana and the attacker didn't score.

This is the victory of the EUROPEAN soccer and tradition.

I'm very happy for Scolari, he is the best coach living (behind only Sacchi, but he is retired)

Yeah, sure, we overrate the 5 time champion, the team that has played the last 3 WC finals and won two of them.

So in Barca they play for Ronaldinho? that's just stupid. Brasil lost because they had no tactics. They were hoping for a moment of inspiration from one of their stars and that moment never came.

    oh and Italy is overrated.

Ok i'm overated but now with betandwin in the quarter i won 1656 € .

Ok Italy problaly is overrated, however is in the top 4 of the world, and brasil where is?where are Argentina, England, Netherlands, USA? .

I don't say that brasil is generally overated, but THIS brasilian team, with this coach.

Lucio and Juan aren't good, Cris is better but the problem is that all the brasilian defense can't marking their man.

Yes Ronaldinho play well when he knows he is the undisputed star of the team, and in Barcelona he is... in 2002 The Ronaldinho'star wasn't still assert (i don't know if this is the correct word) and in brasilian team there was an extraordinay Rivaldo who played an Excellent world Cup, the last time he played very well (unfortunately my Milan knows something...)

"They were hoping for a moment of inspiration from one of their stars and that moment never came."

A team who play like you say is a team with no idea, with no group, with no tactic. Overated.

Generally men hate italy but (i knows because i'm spurs fan) italy is the team who play more similarly like spurs

Oh yes, Ronaldinho in Barca knows that is the undisputed star and, however, with organized team he have many difficult: in milan-barcelona and barcelona-milan, he did only one thing: the assist to Giuly, and the difference between him and kakà was that his assist was received by Giuly, and the ricky's assist was received by ambrosini (a player like gattuso, no technic). But, because he is however a great player, can change the game in any time. But in this world cup he made nothing. (an exemple where ronaldinho is overated? In free kicks, how many goal has scored? 2 or 3? )

NZ no way we are joint host with them, i dont care, remember the rugby world cup where they pulled out and australia ended up hosting it, we dont need NZ to joint host it, we got the money, crowd, facilities to do it, and melbourne > NZ only way australia is goin to make a push to market the game is if melbourne gets the finale game, which has been said during the worldcup.
