Man what a terrible streaming. Too bad because i wanted to see our guys playing.
Jimmer has officially become Alfredrick Hughes. He shall forever be known as Jimmer the great.
If it did, it would show Jimmer chucking 2/7, 29% from three point land. Supposedly his strong suit. And, 41% overall. This all vs D-league compe ion. Not impressive at all.
His 9 assists were this chucker's only saving grace. But, he's played with them a few games now.
He had a better game, statistically, than Ray in Ray's first game down there. But, in the actual NBA this year, Ray is shooting .455 from the field, no threes but he was making them at a good clip in the pre-season. No worse than Jimmer's 2/7 last night, or Jimmer's 18% in the NBA last season. Ray will not be asked to light it up, but he already is proving at least as efficient in the NBA as Jimmer was in the D-league last night.
Add to that, he can actually defend his man a little bit, and it's perfectly understandable why he got the nod over Jimmer.
Can we add it's only Ray's 3rd season, while this is Jimmer's 5th or 6th?
LOL - people twisted that the Spurs cut him loose. Every single NBA team has seen what Jimmer has done in the D-League. Not a single one of them has called him to say, "Come sit on our bench." Not one. Shouldn't they be beating down his door? Or are they ALL too dumb to see how great he is?
The bad players in the NBA are pretty damned good. There are a few players who should have spent a couple more years in college. They get a chance to do that in the D-League. The rest are sparring partners.

Expectations for Jimmer are way high, and I think that's killing his chances in the NBA. As has been pointed out in this thread, some really bad players get playing time in the NBA and contribute very little, but it's not really an option for somebody as famous as Jimmer.
People forget he was above Austin Rivers in the rotation when they were both on the Pelicans. The only reason Rivers is in the NBA and Jimmer's not is because one of them has a dad who coaches in the NBA and just happens to be the general manager for his team. I think Jimmer's definitely NBA calibre, a decent third string guard at his worst and a serviceable backup scoring guard at his best.

Yea, the good stuff didn't come through. The other two games in NY were good quality. This Austin one wasn't for some reason. The next one will hopefully be up to standards.
28.5 ppg, 6.7 asts, 4.7 reb, 3.3 stls, 50.8 FG, 90.9 FT, 35.7 3FG in Jimmer's 3 games with Westchester.
And you're insane if you think Ray can shoot 3's better than Jimmer.
I think Ray can play an NBA role better than Jimmer.
I can't remember a white player less willing to or capable of playing a team game.
Not sure why you are arguing. Both are fringe NBA players at best. So is Simmons. Jimmer will be back in the NBA later this year. All it takes is an injury. He's just biding his time and working on his game.
