holy Falsuchi was a flip flopper for so many decades:

In a phone interview, Fauci at first voiced the opinion that a placebo trial in the elderly might be acceptable, but he called back later to retract his comment, saying that such a trial “would be unethical.”

so he should have ignored what was told to him by medical ethics just because he made a less informed decision hours before?

Germany keeps things normal-ish by universal free rapid testing. Odd we haven't tried that yet.

then they'll do what they did in the beginning and say the tests are giving people covid.

that said, when hospital systems are forced to ration care because they're overwhelmed, it makes sense to treat the patients with the best chance of survival first.

that might include putting unvaxxed COVID patients at the end of the line.
Then open a load of those MASH units like President Trump did.

Pull anchor on that hospital ship in NYC and send her down the Eastern seaboard, stop in south Florida, then onto to Louisiana and Texas, around Cape Horn, if the crew will have it, go North, stop in San Diego, Los Angeles and Frisco, then up to Oregon and Washington state. Then get her turned around and do the whole thing again.

    Bon voyage!!!

how many people do you think are medical ethics experts, its a study that is so niche because it rarely comes into use and it doesn't pay .

They got a load of 'em on the CNN. They've written a likewise load of books to prove it and CNN shows said load whenever the (((medical ethics experts))) appear on CNN, wrecky.

    ok
that's not medical ethics, that's scientific method

but to answer you, the question of placebos during a novel pandemic is a niche question hater because we don't get those but once every few decades.

    Florida bends the knee.

A Florida judge ruled against Gov. Ron Desantis on Wednesday and allowed schools in the state to mandate face-masks while the case is appealed at a higher level.

The ruling from Second Circuit Judge John Cooper, effective immediately, means the state of Florida must stop enforcement of banning mask mandates -- which ends sanctions against several school districts who have implemented such mandates.
The decision comes amid heated showdowns between the state and some local school districts, which have insisted on requiring students to wear masks amid a surge of Covid-19 infections.

yeah what's wrong with taking advice from someone who knows more about medical ethics. The question is literally which is more medically ethical designing an experiment with no placebos or having a placebo group.

I thought we do. Walgreens and CVS offer free PCR and IDNOW tests, though you have to do it in your car. I think Qwest Diagnostics offers the tests free also.

Were there even 55M people who tested positive?

    No

Were the emergency rooms overrun with COVID patients?

    No

What's your point other than your typical Jethro Bodine ciphering exhibition?
Took a bit longer, but here is what happens when you don't vaccinate, and stop doing things like masks and lockdowns.

One difference in Germany is that you can get them mailed to you at home for free, making it easy for Germans to comply with requirements that one be vaxxed, tested or recovered from COVID before going to a gym, movie, restaurant, school, etc.

@RG: in epidemiology, success looks like an overreaction.

that hospitals were not overwhelmed by COVID patients last year might just as well be an argument for countermeasures as against them. suggesting countermeasures were overblown because hospitals weren't overwhelmed is akin to arguing birth control isn't necessary because your gf didn't get pregnant last time you rawdogged her.

The Germans have all that extra $ laying around due to the fact of their Uncle Adolf, Winester. And all their children are present and accounted for because of their Uncle Adolf.

Our children? Well, 13 of 'em came back just last week...
