We never beat Lithuania, why should today be any different?
Lithuania leads 43-35 at half.
defense
rebounding
sasha
beno still MIA
We never beat Lithuania, why should today be any different?
Lithuania wins 81:75. A bit better in the second half, but no focus on the offensive end. We didn't control the boards.
Overall Lithuania was a much better team.
Code:LITHUANIA - SLOVENIA 81:75 (22:17, 21:18, 24:23, 14:17) Petravičius 16 Lakovič 14 Lukauskis 12 Dragič 14 K. Lavrinovič 11 Golemac 11 Kalneitis 9 Nachbar 10 Javtokas 8 E. this . Jure Zdovc is one stupid . His ing coaching sucks. Why the doesn't he play our best guys. It's pathetic to see S.Udrih play 25 minutes. It just sucks!!
And why is Beno still not playing. Is his pussy once again in pain?

Well to be honest... some people still need to be cut so he is:
a ) figuring out who to cut
b ) saving some of our best players so they don't get injured or exausted.
So for now.... I can understand those weird rotations. But if this will continue after Sevilla we should be seriously worried.
For the time being it is pretty obvious who our best guys are. Lets just pray Beno&Sasha can show something.
As for Vujacic... Has anyone seriously expected he will be a 50% shooter overnight?
If he sucks in LA he will also suck in Europe.
He should lay all his cards on the table for a meaningless game, you're absolutely right.
you should know.
But difference between you and him is that unlike you, he can get some.
So behave and stop humping your goat.![]()
To paraphrase Beno, "we don't need to practice offense, it always goes well for us".![]()
There was a lot of bricks from open positions thrown yesterday, Vujačič throw one.
If a player is open - there is no other option as shooting, brick or not. Player who doesn't shoot from open positions is not defended anymore, double-teaming is possible.
I know that TV "adds" you a few pounds, but what the is wrong with Nachbar? I couldn't put a finger on it for some time but yesterday it hit me. He looks fat and slow. He is completely out of shape. That also may be the reason that his shot isn't falling. His center of gravity is shifted.
All of the sudden our SF spot looks shaky. Nachbar was a "lock" for bulk of minutes at SF, but at the moment, with this kind of shape, he simpy can't handle it.
With Golemac and his inconsistency and Jagodnik and his slow feet I'm depresed. D. Lorbek doesn't help either. Damn you Preldzic.![]()
In my opinion, Nachbar has been the biggest disappointment so far.
You've just expected too much from him. Yes, he can drive under the basket, he can shoot 10/10 - but he never was consistent. He can do 10/10 in one game and 0/10 in next - same story is with Vujačič.
Best man so far is Dragič - consistent, fearless
Still - real matches begin in Poland
Of course, I am aware of that.
Best man so far, in my opinion, has been E. Lorbek.
Biggest surprise in a positive way has been Jagodnik, because I didn't expect anything from him.
Players evaluation so far:
Lakovic:
Lakovic as we all know him. Very inconsistent, turnover prone, shot is off most of the time. All in all, he showed one good game (Croatia Porec), One solid game (Croatia Pazin), everything else was bad.
Grade: C
Dragic:
I like him, I like him a lot. Fast, fearless, with great effort on defense. Things change when he enters the game (sometimes things go worst because of his poor judgment). His outside shot is still a suspect.
Grade: B
S. Udrih:
One excellent game, one so-so, everything else was nothing to write home about. Increased minutes didn't do miracles for him. Still borderline member of the team.
Grade: C-
Klobucar:
He looks like a junior and he plays like one. Fast, aggressive and full of mistakes.
Grade: C-
Vujacic:
We were able to see 8 minutes of his hairiness so far. That 8 minutes were dreadful. He will have to improve with speed of light to make himself useful.
Grade: Inc.
B. Udrih:
OK, in the past I defended him like crazy. In that one game he played, he reminded us that he has tons of talent, but does he have a heart? Does he even like basketball? I'm not sure anymore.
Grade: I don't care at the moment
D. Lorbek:
To bad he only shares a last name with Erazem. His talent went in opposite direction.
Grade: D
Nachbar:
Read my previous post, he looks like a doughnut and he plays like a doughnut.
Grade: O
Golemac:
Unselfish, quick, agressive, with good court vision. Tends to complicate things. He needs to calm down, he is experienced enough to do that. Zdovc should help him. His best move so far was attempt to deck President of Croatian basketball Radic. That MoFo should get punched in the mouth.
Grade: C+
Jagodnik:
Do the surgery and cut out a little piece of this guys heart and put it in Benos chest. Jagoda is pure warrior. I respect this man.
Grade: B
Zupan:
Grade: A for showing up
Slokar:
I don't know why Zdovc doesn't use him more. He is usually very effective in his limited time. He is a bit of liability on defensive end, but he is smooth on offense.
Grade: B-
Vidmar:
Keep walking, nothing to see here at the moment. His time in Turkey was a disaster. He completely lost self confidence. I feel sorry for Lurch.
Grade: F**king F-
Smodis:
In theory he is great, in reality he is non existent.
Grade: What do you expect from me?
Brezec:
At first
Now, he can be useful in limited minutes. We all know his weaknesses so I won't go there. If he'll get himself in good enough physical shape he can be nice offensive weapon.
Grade: C
E. Lorbek:
Our best player so far, It's just pity that he is such a poor athlete. With his skills and better athleticism he would wreck havoc. What is with that free throw shooting?
Grade: A-
I have to say that our team doesn't look too good conditioning wise. When whistle is blown they all are grasping for air. That Nikolic dude, that worked with them on Rogla, could do better in my opinion.

As I see it...
It will be vital that Dragic and Erazem Lorbek are healthy and preapared enough to be able to play 30+ minutes in Polan or we are ed. They can both make things happen. Erazem is better offensively and Dragic is better defensively. If Smodis will be healthy and ready we can include him into this role. Basically we NEED Smodis.
All the others are basically role players around them imo. Somehow Zdovc doesn't seem to trust Slokar too much for some reason; he is one of our best players imo.
We have a bunch of china dolls and role players who are able to choke. BUT we also have a couple of fearless and solid players who should carry us.
As I said before... person I fear most is ZDOVC.
I wouldn't count him out just yet. Beno is just doing what he's always been doing. Even on the Spurs. Skipping training camps and prep games
He's lazy...but when the time comes to play, I think he'll bring it.
You're one of rare people that actually sees everything Golemac is doing. Slovenian message boards are full of hatred for this guy, I think he's our best hustler so far and his passing is excellent for a big guy.
Thank you very much...I guess.
Well, I did my share of basketball, so It would be pitiful for me not to notice that kind of things.
As for the others, average fan goes bananas about obvious things (dunking, 3-point shooting, shot-blocking), Jurica on the other hand does little things that are good for the team, but don't show up in stats. (this is good about Jurica)
Also he has a bad habit that makes him do some "over-thinking" sometimes, that costs him tenths or maybe just hundreds of a second and that is often enough to find himself in trouble. If he gets to eager, he has tendency to make mistakes in series. Thats why some fans hate him. It's Zdovcs job to notice when Golemac is in destructive mood and take him out to prevent stupidity. (and this is bad about Jurica)

I don't think there is any question about Golemac getting quality minutes. With Smodis hurt and Nachbar not showing anything special he has loads of 3/4 minutes for grabs.
He wants to play and be succesful and it shows-things like happened in Poreč and Pazin just add to that.
Yea he is fat!! I saw him last year in Koper withouth his T-Shirt, and I was just shocked how can that guy play in the NBA!
Looking good for now. Beno with some nice moves.
Lorbek offensively dominant as always.
Vujacic getting some minutes.. didn't show anything yet tough; hopefully he can play a lot to give an impression what he is able to do when he settles down. Being rusty is pretty normal at this point.
