A writeup specifically for the Cavs
The Point Guards
Nothing too fancy. Chauncey Billups is a steady all-star calibre point guard, rare in the current NBA where most young point guards rely on their athletic ability to survive. His vast experience in the playoffs in this decade in well-do ented and is a vital piece to any NBA contender. Although he is old for my team's standards, we still have a solid young point guard backing him up.
His backup is the ever brilliant Ramon Sessions. Sessions, when given playing time, has played extremely well. Buried under Luke Ridnour by Scott Skiles last season, he only started 39 games. Those starts came under the trust of his new head coach Skiles, and of course he played like he was posessed. Although he was buried on the nech in October and December, in November, he had all double digit scoring performances except for one single game against the top defensive team, the Orlando Magic. Oh, and he is only 23 years old. Ramon Sessions has a slim chance of becoming a Jason Kidd like player (exeggerating, but you get my point).
The Shooting Guards
Nothing too sexy. Starting explosive athletic Eric Gordon whose max vertical is 40 inches, runs the floor and potential superstar like a specific Gilbert Arenas. We wanted productive star potential shooting guards with immense athletic ability and Eric Gordon fits the bill. Eric Gordon is a shooting guard first, point guard second. He shows some potential to be a point guard in the future as well. What Mike Dunleavy has done to Eric Gordon his an outrage for the first 3 months of the season wasting his potential, letting him rot on the bench and playing re s like Ricky Davis who should never be on the basketball court again.
His backup is a former sixth man of the year. Let us go with what is useful and extremely productive. Leandro Barbosa still has a lot of what it takes. Taking a reduced role on the Suns because of the Jason Richardson trade, he still managed to score 14 points in 24 minutes, also dishing out a couple of assists. With the athletic, sprinting Brazillian Blur, we would look to run run and run in our games.
Sadly, and unfortunately, the shooting guard spot is so deep that James Harden may not get any playing time. The next big thing has to sit on the bench and wait till a miracle happens.
The Small Forwards
Alley-oop! Chauncey Billups to Andre Iguodala, the fans erupt from their seats. He just threw down a windmill. The athletic, creative small forward, Iguodala looks to defend the opposing top perimeter threat. I don't care if you are Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dywane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Brandon Roy. Bring it on. The second option can do it all. With Iguodala around, he will be our main perimeter threat and with spearhead Billups leading the crew, you would be seeing an alley-oop dunk every game. Andre Iguodala would get his and then some. Oh ya, he is also a clutch player and just 25 years old. Spurs fans know what Roger Mason did to the Lakers, this is what Iggy did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D6Awp6755g
His backup, is another solid defender who can slide in at the 2 spot for some time as well, Mickael Pietrus. On the deep Orlando Magic team, Pietrus was their main perimeter defender in 24 minutes a game. No need for him to score, although he could do that too. Like Iggy, Pietrus is also a of an athlete.
The Power Forwards
Fear my man. Chris Bosh. Plays decent defense when he tries. Looks like everyone seems to quit in Toronto nowadays. Some people don't even want to report there. He showed us his underrated defensive ability in the Olympics. In the season, he showed us he could hustle too. He is among the players who has 20-10 points-rebounds average this season. Well, actually, only him and Dwight Howard. Still 25 years old and room for improvement.
Paul Millsap is a hardnosed rebounder, with some scoring ability to boot if he gets the ball from all-star calibre point guards through the pick-and-roll. Look for this Cavs team to run more picks with Millsap around. Another one of those freakish double-double machines.
Michael Beasley is the same type of player as Bosh and is going to improve. Comparing talent, Beasley would have been the 2nd stringer forward if it wasn't because of Millsap's hard-nosed blue-collared style.
The Centers
Again, not quite flashy, nothing spectacular. We just need to rebound and play defense while passing the ball. Who else does this better all-around than Andrew Bogut, who can provide those things, but also low post scoring. Scoring 58% of his field goals, Bogut is extremely efficient and an effective player. Too bad everyone underestimates the guy. He is going to kick your ass. A young center who will develop with Bosh as he is also 25 years old.
His backup is Marreese Spieghts. I am telling you. I was supposed to be filling out my roster from the crew called the 76ers but organiser Phila was too much. He took Thaddeus Young and ran away. Otherwise, he would have been a Cavalier in our 16 team league. If I did not take Spieghts, he would have took him, so I was kind of annoyed by him. , if Iguodala was not taken in the 2nd round, he would have stolen him from me too. Spieghts has potential and if given enough minutes he would produce as proven in November and December. Just check his game logs. He would not disappoint you. Part of the reason why Dalembert has been quite furious in his reduced role.
There you go, although they might suck on 2k9, they are a much better team in real life. This is the Cavaliers.
Thanks a lot. I may not be a writer, but that was the longest post I made on Spurstalk.
^I liked it maybe you should post more rosters analysis / game writeup.
Out of that I'm really happy with our team, nothing flashy but it is a very solid team that can win now and in the future which was the main criteria. In this criteria taking Iggy over Pierce for instance is logic.
I can't watch games most of the time so I can't really do any game writeups.
By the way, all of you should write something up so that it would look cool or something.

If its ok with everyone, the spurs would like to waive anthony morrow and sign Rudy Fernandez
I'm open to any trades not involving Yao and Amare if anyone is interested.
Yo sa kid20, the thunder drafted Wilson Chandler not Mario Chalmers. Mario Chalmers is on the Spurs which u got right. Anyway, thanx for posting all the rosters man.
Spurs roster
PG Jameer Nelson, Mario Chalmers
SG Manu Ginobili, Jamal Crawford, Rudy Fernandez
SF Paul Pierce, Trevor Ariza
PF Lamarcus Aldridge, Antonio Mcdyess
C Al Jefferson, Brad Miller, Roy Hibbert
I think that's a team that can go deep in the playoffs. Ill do a writeup later when I get to my comp.
Spurs roster is definately solid. BTW guys so far what are your rankings ?
Thanks for catching that man. Oh and i guess i should switch Anthony Morrow to Rudy Fernandez or is that not official yet??
U can go ahead and switch them, I got the OK from Phila to change Anthony Morrow to Rudy Fernandez, thanx sa kid again for all ur work. its greatly appreciated
2010 Rankings (Hypothetical NBA Not 2k9):
1. OKC Thunder
2. Houston Rockets
3. Golden State Warriors
4. Washington Wizards
5. Indiana Pacers
6. San Antonio
7. Cleveland Cavs
8. Philadelphia 76's
9. Charlotte Bobcats
10. Sacramento Kings
11. LA Lakers
12. Chicago Bulls
13. Orlando Magic
14. LA Clippers
15. Atlanta Hawks
Is this ur opinion or did sum panel decide this?
Why did you rank the Rockets 2nd? If they are on the court together, no one on that team is effective enough to do anything at all.
Are these following centers available?
Marc Gasol
Andrew Bynum
Greg Oden
Tyson Chandler
Emeka Okafor
Al Horford
Players I could be willing to give up are the following:
James Harden
Marreese Spieghts
Michael Beasley
Paul Millsap

Yes, Okafor is available. I'm interested in both Beasley and Millsap. You were interested in Diaw too right?
just my humble opinion![]()
The just have a good mix of win now players. They have a great PG, great shooters, inside scoring, defenders and have clutch guys all over the court.
Besides... they drafted the Red Rocket![]()
Not Diaw, just Okafor. Which one do you prefer?
I want to hear from Phila first with his plans with these teams
It'll really be a shame if we spent all this time drafting and talking and don't do much with these teams
I sent him a PM earlier, he told me that the simulation would be on next Sunday and we should finalize the teams by Tuesday central time.
