You wake up in the morning and this happens ...
Looks like Stern returned the favor for the Spurs sleeping on the plane that 1 day.
The Sling...that's exactly the right way to play it even if it's a minor hyper-extension. You do that to keep your arm in a protected position. It's actually pretty easy to hurt yourself more when left unhindered.
You wake up in the morning and this happens ...
I agree. Even if they are 90 percent sure there's no damage, they'd make him immobilize it pending the MRI.
Sadly, this wouldn't crack the top 10 worst things I've woken up to.
Just a couple of quotes, hit the link for the whole piece.
Duncan: No second-guessing decision to play starters...“He’ll be fine,” said Parker, a sentiment echoed by a handful of teammates, it should be noted, who also do not own medical degrees.
...“If he isn’t able to play in the playoffs, it’s going to be devastating for us,” McDyess said.
...“Luckily, it’s not serious,” Duncan said. “Hopefully, he can be ready to go once the playoffs start. You cross your fingers and hope for that.”

I think based on Manu's tweet, I really believe this is nothing serious....
Please, basketball gods. This can't be how this season ends.
Give us clean pictures.
One time.
Thanks.
i really wish McDonald would cut out the snark. It's not funny at all.
I would think there is a very good chance if the MRI ends up being fine and the elbow is completely ok that he ends up being a "gametime decision"
No reason to help out the Memphis coaching staff.
First game in Memphis is a week and a half away. Manu will be back by then. Hill will get it done in the first two games at home. We're gonna beat the Grizz in 5 games, max.
People thought Bynum was done with a hyperextended knee. I bet Manu plays game 1
And at least 8 of those 10 are threads you forgot you had started the night before.
Assuming a minor injury demanding 1 to 1 1/2 weeks to recover the best plan would be to not play him for Game 1 and play him or not according to the result. If we win game 1 without him I don't see Pop rushing him even a bit. It's not like he comes out of rhythm or something.. We can win a game at home against Memphis without Manu.
Dr Arosti (sp?) was on The Morning Drive on 760 this morning. if the "radial ligament" is torn he's done for the year, if it's a bone bruise he'll be back quick.
pray.
And the other two times were waking up next to your mom.
knowing the Spurs luck we're going to find out the worst possible news from the MRI

Have they given a time for the MRI?
probably Noonish (CST)
Sounds like the trainers feel he is okay..
It doesn't matter if he plays the first game at home or not. This team has to win in 4 games against Memphis. Because OKC will win in 4 or 5 at most, and we need at least the same rest as them, Parker, Hill, Duncan and Jefferson better carry the team to a victory for good.
yes there is, and he does not know the difference between the words "then" and "than"
Perfect.
Great. Now Manu will be well rested for the ARG national team in the summer.
