Michael Young is the person responsible for turning this game around in favor of the Tigers. Three straight hits to start the game, and a 1-0 lead with no outs. Young grounds into a DP to kill the momentum, and that was that.
I keep waiting for Mike to show up, hoping against it all that he'll break outta this slump, but for 'S sake. If you listen closely, you can almost hear the Detroit outfielders yellin "Easy out! Eeeeeeeasy out!" as they move closer in.

    C'mon, Mike. Goddammit.

Bench Michael Young for game 4 or just have him in the game as a pinch hitter?

anytime any pressure is put on an asian pitcher, they choke like no other. remember that asian guy on the diamondbacks who almost choked away the series against the yankees? remember chan ho park after signing a big contract with big expectations? remember hideo nomo after his rookie year when he had expectations? remember every minute of hideki irabu's career?

of course in baltimore he'd perform well, then choke like a typical asian got once he was on a playoff team with le expectations.

I remember how many racist jokes relating to BK Kim there were during that series. You'd be out in public talking about the Diamondbacks and a complete stranger would jump in the coversation saying something like, "HEY! Did you hear BK Kim changed his name to three huong high....get it, because he hung 3 pitches high and huong high sounds asian "

No one remembers that because the Dbacks won that year. Winning erases that .

Oh well. Can't win them all. An all around pitiful showing outside of the first inning.

Michael Young really needs to pull his head out of his ass.

The Rangers have got to win today. A loss today puts a LOT of pressure on them, as then they have to face Verlander in G5, pitch Holland ing G6, and face Fister in G7.

I still have faith they can and will win the series, but they don't need to put more pressure on themselves than they already have by losing last night.

interesting matchup again tonight, particularly for Matt Harrison.

Harrison has done poor in his career against Detroit, a 1-4 record with a 6.89 ERA. But this year, he is an exponentially better pitcher on the road, and especially during the daytime.

On the other hand, Porcello did well in his start against the Rangers this year, but has not been a very good pitcher overall. He is a very poor pitcher at home with a 5.64 ERA. Porcello has done very poorly against lefties as well, so the Rangers definitely need to bring in Murphy. Also after doing well last night, I think Torrealba should get another start, and possibly DH Beltre if his knee is bugging him a lot.

well, just heard that Beltre feels good enough to go at 3rd, so he will be out there, Young at 1st, and Torrealba will be DHing. Murph at LF.

Dont count on the game being played tonight...or tomorrow.

    Rain, rain and more rain.

Dont know how the MLB is going to deal with this.

exactly why you had no reason to start whining already, series isnt over yet, momentum is right back in detroits hands.
I have an uncanny ability to and moan about a player or players and remarkably, coincidentally they decide to show up the next game.

Mostly Red Wings related, but its almost uncanny.

While I still doubt the Tigers bats, increasingly getting worse as injuries mount, Cabrera is an easy one to "call out" seeing as he is the best right-hander in the game.

But my "AutoOut Jackson" comment, followed by a 3-5 performance against (of all things) a RHP seems to have kept the trend. This, IMO, was the difference in this game. The leadoff man was actually a threat to get on base (holy ...).

Regardless, IMO, Tigers have no chance to win the series unless they take all 3 games at home. Going to back to Arlington with Texas up 3-2 is futile.
