I dont know why I'm on this thread tbh.
Confirmed. He's getting the max.
I dont know why I'm on this thread tbh.
Especially when you lock up tony parker for three years on an inflated contract.
Yep, he is such a big part of this team it would be crazy to let him walk.
Danny "Long " Green
Gotcha.
I think with the cap/tax set to skyrocket in a year, he'll be back, even if it means they go into tax territory for a year.
This may actually be a thing if Tim/Manu retire. How much do the Spurs pay this guy in the reload/rebuild world?
Someone is going to throw over 10m at the guy. do Spurs match?
Danny's earned a huge pay increase, but it's hard to imagine a team offering a max deal. Deals of around 10m per year are certainly in play. Spurs should come out of the gate with a five year offer, to hopefully match the five year deal that Kawhi will get.
he isn't a restricted FA the Spurs matching an offer wouldn't matter. If he gets a big offer and decides to sign the Spurs won't get a shot to match.
Sure, I didn't mean match in the RfA sense, but more so at what point will an offer be too rich for the Spurs.
Green has more than deserved a nice pay raise, but wonder if 11-12m a year in a post Duncan/Manu world is a bit much if the team is looking at a rebuild/reload situation in the next two years. May not be, especially with the cap bump to come, but then again the team would be committing large amounts of money to a Parker, green, Leonard trio.
Utah will take a long & serious look at Verde if they think they can challenge for playoff spot next season, he will be a great fit (3 pt shooting & perimeter defense) for that young team that needs some veteran leadership & championship/playoff experience.
How about the other half of wing stop huh? If people don't think Leonard is worth the max then thus guy sure isn't. He hasn't even showed up once this series.
Don't think Green ever deserved the max. But his stock is probably dropping as this series progresses.
Green's stock dropping faster than 2012
I'd say keeping Belinelli is a higher priority than Green.
Dude is ultra important we knw what ldn brings but lets chill on that max bs.safe to say c splitter money
Green's stock is the same as it's always been, tbh..you guys think other GMs didn't realize he can't create his own shot until they watched this series?..he'll probably get around what Ariza got IMO, 8 mil a year, maybe 9 prior to the upcoming cap increase..
He would be an idiot to re-sign with the Spurs, though..they don't have a single guard that can create shots(especially with Manu's probable retirement), which is fatal for a role player..

If Danny's loyal, he re-sign with the Spurs. If he's smart, he'll join his buddy LBJ in Cleveland and replace Jr Smith.
I also find it funny that people get so upset that Danny Green, who spent his first 2 years bouncing around teams and in the D-League, isn't playing like a world class basketball player![]()
Who cares, a guy who shots something like 2-40 during a whole series aint worth a penny.
No, what's strange is people being angry about a player that shot a historic 48% from 3 on 5 attempts per game in the past 2 playoff runs finally having a bad shooting series..
Belli had a good night tonight, but he's nowhere near as versatile as Green, who can contribute even when his shot isn't falling. There's a reason CP3 didn't score until the 3rd, for example.
Having watched a lot of Nemanja Dangubic's Cvrena Cvezda games this year I would love to see him as a low cost alternative to Green. He's really something except the shooting which isn't a lost cause. No joke, I really line his game as a role playing wing. Defense, on ball, off ball, full court, help, blocks, transition, athletic plays ... He's a lot like Green was coming from Cleveland but with soaring athleticism and finishing.
