Still waiting to see objective, legit proof that Montana is unquestionably superior to Brady.

I'm thinking it's not gonna be presented... because it doesn't exist.

Joe Montana had an uncannny knack for knowing exactly where his receivers would end up. He had the mental aspects of game totally down. The best I've ever seen.
Since you're a fat ol with horrible football takes a terrible do ented gambling record, your opinion is .

There is a reason all of us who know the game because we've been into the game for decades, go with Joe Montana as the best ever.

Sometimes it simply comes down to watching the games. I've never seen a better QB.

This post makes it seem like Joe Montana is the only answer to the "Who is the GOAT" question.....It's not that easy my friend.

Tom Brady also deserves consideration....and IMO Tom Brady is the GOAT.

Tell me this Avante. Is it harder to win now or when Joe played? What I mean is are the players bigger, stronger, and faster today? Or 30 years ago?

    To an extent.

There are facts that can prove it as well. But fact is, Montana doesn't have them. Brady does.

Either way, my question came as a result of someone claiming "Montana is clearly better than Brady" which was not presented or stated as an opinion, but rather as a fact, which is why I asked for the facts to be presented.

Sure a realistic argument can be made for Tom Brady. But I care more about those who saw him play every game of his career (living in Cali) than someone who simply knows...about...him. I've also seen all of Brady's big games.

We all have our opinions, mine is that when it comes to QB's, I'd take Montana over everyone else.

And you might be correct. But just because you "saw him play every game" doesn't sway my opinion one way or the other.

But you still haven't answered my question. Is it harder to win today or 30 years ago? Also....did the 49ers deal with roster changes due to "free agency" like the Patriots have? If you're going to be fair about this conversation.....all these things should be considered.

When it comes to sport we can't really get too carried away with eras. So you go with....dominance of era. I have no doubts at all that Ohio State would have beaten the 60 Packers. We see high school lines today bigger than back in the day pro lines.

So all this...easier today, harder today.....nay~~~~~~~~~ You go with ...dominance of era.

Jesse Owens once broke five WR and tied another at a Big10 meet back in the 30's. There are high school kids today that would smoke him

All this...well ya see free agency and.....has nothing to do with anything. Once again....dominance of era.

Well you shouldn't say that Joe Montana is the GOAT. You should in fact be saying that Joe Cool is the best of his era. And Tom Brady is the best of his era.....

But it doesn't work that way.

You go with who was the most dominant in their era. Like Jim Brown was in the 60's, Don Hutson in the 30's.

When Montana was playing there was no debate about who was "da man". We do see....Brady/Manning/Rodgers..today.

Avante.....don't go there. This conversation was going so well.

Rodgers still has time....he's fairly young still. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt....and if he wins a couple more SuperBowls.....I'll start this conversation over.

    But don't bring up Manning....please don't. He's Tom Brady's ....

Well then Aaron Rodgers is Russell Wlson's , he's 0-3 vs him. Do we really use that at some barometer of anything?

Peyton Manning had one of the truly amazing NFL careers. Forget the stupid....but he lost....that's what dummies play. Who was better Dan Marino or the 4 time SB champ Terry Bradshaw? Johnny Unitas was far better than the two time SB champ Bart Starr.

If they ever chisel out a Mount Rushmore for QB's.

    John Unitas
    Joe Montana
    Tom Brady
    Peyton Manning
