yeah, i'll stand by that. paul is still one of the most efficient offensive players in the league, his production hasn't slipped, and he's a much better defender than westbrook.

westbrook worries more about his personal glory than team success. i'm sure a lot of stars do, but few to that degree. his "mvp" was a result of convincing the entire team to clear out and let him grab uncontested rebounds. it doesn't move the needle for me. we already knew he's the most physically talented guard in the league. he just had higher usage than previous years.

paul is a whiny, flopping ... but i'd take him over WB in a heartbeat if i'm trying to compete. if you're in a tight game in the closing minutes, you dont want westbrook bringing the ball up and jacking up a ridiculous contested shot with 19 seconds on the shot clock followed by falling asleep on D and giving up a backdoor layup

for all of you worried about kawhi getting frozen out and not getting shots... westbrook is the worst possible remedy
    Thank you!

I respect Russ for being a fierce fighter but he might just be the most 'unSpur' EVER outside of the being a compe ive killer everything outside of that: from the ultra athleticism to the fashion consciousness to the easily getting butthurt, to the most NOT over himself player I can think of is about as completely opposite of what my idea of what a Spur is as I can imagine.

dabom: kawhi needs more touches, we need a point guard that will facilitate and play defense

    lets bring in westbrook!

Paul is better than Russ. Would be more willing to go with Westbrook if he became a mature player and seemed to respond to coaching. But he doesn't, and he and Kawhi would be a slightly worse version of KD and RW in OKC.

The next super team in the NBA for the Clippers in a few years? Russ/AD/Kawhi/Kyle

Who would they trade him here for? You know they're not letting him walk like Durant.

I actually think Kawhi and Westbrook would work really well together. Westbrook craves the spotlight, Kawhi hates it. Kawhi is content to play off-ball and be a second option, while Westbrook needs that dominating style.

Westbrook, Green, Leonard, Bertans, and a legit big (AD?) would be formidable.

I would like to see that team. If the Spurs can't get anything around Kawhi, then I don't think I'd have a problem with him leaving if he wants to form a team with those players. A couple of years ago any dream team/super team scenario I had included Anthony Davis along with Kawhi. Add Westbrook to that, and that would be even more insane.

Who said that team would be based in San Antonio? If the Spurs don't get anything decent around Kawhi, that team is most likely to be formed elsewhere.
