14 attempts from 3. What is this, 1998? Through 2 games, the breakdown from paint/mid-range/3, is roughly 45/34/22%.
This is a prime example of what's wrong with this organization. Why is it still acceptable that he inexplicably space to 20, instead of an extra 3-4 feet, on his pick-and-pops? This wouldn't be acceptable anywhere else in '18. They're living in the past.
Perhaps someone in the organization needs to work out the math.
What's the percentage difference between Aldridges's mid range and a 3 point shot? What's the likelihood of an offensive rebound from a missed 3 point vs a mid-range shot?
The only think I can think of is that this is preseason and chucking 3 point shots is just playing lazy.
So glad I ended up not canceling my nba lague pass
Thsi is a nice little team
You still should cancel and then decide when the season comes, tbh.
They tried it his first year with the organization and he never looked comfortable launching from that distance. I like how you think you're smarter than the Spurs coaching staff.
Bas s alrady charged me
I canceled about a month ago. Yea, you have to do it earlier. You could get it reversed still; but it sounds like you want it anyhow.
Not paying for NBA league pass when the Warriors will likely win a championship again. I'll watch highlights like last year or games on ESPN, TNT, NBATV. Last time I did NBA league pass was 2015 when Spurs were defending their championship. The NBA is to one sided now to pay any kind of money for NBA merchandise or tickets. I'd like to see all those Spurs games but I just don't want to pay for it when ultimately a team with 5 all-stars is gonna win it all just way to predictable to be worth anyone's hard earned money.
Dude, chill. Both DeRozan and LMA said they worked extensively on the 3 pt shot this summer to help with spacing. That said, their efficiency drops when they go out. You cannot seriously be upset with LMA's game?
Its a little weird. Aldridge said that he worked on 3's and yet he's practicing a shot that he's already mastered. This team has continuously lagged behind the league in 3pt shooting for a reason and they don't seem to care.
He took 8 "mid-range" jumpers per game last seasons (10-22 feet) while shooting 43.5%
Ideally he'd cut that down to, say, 5 per game and up his attempts to 3 pt attempts per game.
Shooting 33% on 3's is better than shooting 45% from mid-range, its a matter of volume though.
There is a trade off with offensive rebounding; he ranked 10th in offensive rebounding percentage and lead the league and points off offensive rebounds stretching out more to 3 limits those chances but probably not drastically.
Because they keep winning and making playoffs. If they become a 40 wins team in 2021, the next coach will care about...
Aldridge shot a whopping 16 3's in '15-'16. He'd inevitably get more comfortable with repe ion, just like virtually every other prominent jump shooting big from his era did.
You apologists never cease to amaze. I like how you think your master, Pop, is smarter than virtually everyone else in the league and common sense. Keep worshipping at his altar though.
Aldridge says that every off season; lots of players do. It's as cliché as having added or subtracted 10-15 pounds.
As cd021 said, shooting, with volume, 33% from 3 is better than shooting 45% from mid range.
Aldridge usually starts out shooting more 3s before reverting to previous form. If the Knicks or Kings had done the majority of things the Spurs have done the past few years, they'd be mercilessly mocked.
