what did it look like to you?
The election of Bill Clements as governor in 1980 signaled the big party switch in Texas, but Rick Perry was still Al Gore's state campaign chair in 1988.
Wonder what pre-Clinton looked like

One of the fleeting jokes in "The Gay Place," by Billy Lee Brammer is that approximately all the very conservative Texas Democrats were approximately 100% in agreement with Republicans already.
This was back in the early 1960s. Even in the late 1990s, from the personal experience bank, I can report that the convention of East Texas Democrats near Bee Cave, TX was abuzz and illated by the rumor of Rick Perry's imminent arrival to speak to them -- of course, they had all voted for Rick Perry, even though they mostly voted for Democrats locally.
This pattern was not uncommon in Texas, back in the pre-Clinton day.

In Vidor, Bridge City, Orange, Port Arthur, Beaumont, Pasadena. That I recall. Maybe I did see Longview in there, but I remember the party having a more toxic triangle vibe.
The plaid -- and race separation -- and myriad pies for Christmas thing in east Texas, is it still a thing?
Who ever thought getting Liz Cheney to campaign for the Democrats needs to be tarred and feathered as she is hated by both sides no one can stand that War .
Evidently the left aren't being introspective and learning a lesson. Good. I'm out.
Trump's gonna buy 'em all houses!
Ok, well both Biden and Hilary voted for both the Afghanistan and Iraq War.
Our country is buried in debt and Harris was promising $25K home down payments... no doubt it in addition to debt cancellations and other giveaways.
Trump is even worse. He just does it differently with tax cuts.
The point is they both suck.
One side preached Joy. Tone deaf.
What Camp do you think your going to be sent to Chump?
Deutschland government had a meltdown in response to Trump winning. Budgets overload![]()
None. I look like an Übermensch compared to most and your side is easily fooled.
Ofcourse but as many Liberal initiatives we like - must come gradually and controlled.
I have argued to my Polish buddies thar PL must import to become the region power it is destined to. When a foreigner adapts your way of life and is successful - big flex
I was puzzled by the serial public hugging of horrible Republicans by Harris too. Harris's serial public embracing of billionaires and celebrities perhaps did not tend to endear, either.
It was a bad campaign, and a weak candidate. So weak as in fact to lose to an obviously corrupt degenerate.
Radical change is coming. Trump 2.0 will be the most radical government any of us have ever seen.
It Was Always About InflationMore than one in five voters, 22%, said inflation had caused them “severe hardship” over the last year; they went for Trump by 50 points. More than half, 53%, said inflation had caused them “moderate hardship”; they went for Trump by 6 points. A lucky quarter, 24% to be precise, said it caused them no hardship at all; they went for Harris by 57 points.
Tune into European politics. We have more intense princess.
I wasn't aware we were having a contest
Haha. Relax. Acting like everything Trump said is set in stone.
