I don’t know man. Had some moments on Offense but thought he was pretty bad overall.
There is speculation that Charles is paying the Celtics to be on their SL team... I don't know how all that works... but sheesh if true.

his defense effort juxtaposed with that of carter's is night and day. i'd much rather have a player who needs to develop on the offensive side than one who is miles away from being a decent defender. i also heard that Queen gave some of the worst interviews prior to the draft. maybe he works out but he's gonna have to reinvent his work ethic.

Charles Bassey on playing for the #Celtics for #NBA 2K26 Summer League: "It was last minute. I got a call from my agent, and flew out the next day (for training camp). It's been good."
On what drew him to Boston: "The culture." #PorVida
That’s disgusting effort. I don’t care how talented he is on offense you don’t want a 5 who’s going to provide a red carpet to the rim for the opposition. Imagine that next to Zion, how many points they’re going to give up. Even Missi sucks on defense but at least he tries and is big.
Pels were 29th in defense last year at 119 DRTG. Even their most used lineup with Herb Jones, Missi and Dejounte gave up a DRTG of 120. Their most used lineup with Zion in it gave up 128 DRTG. Now they add Queenand Fears both who will be poor defenders.
They are going to be a bottom 5 defense this year again.

bassey had 14/11 and 2 blocks today
just sucks the guy cant stay healthy. i think he's a capable 2nd center or a high end 3rd center. it definitely was time for the spurs to move on and look for an upgrade
I thought the Spurs may have kept Bassey as the third string C after the Kornet signing. That was less likely after Olynik but even then I thought there was a chance as Olynik is better as a 4. But probably good for Bassey to try win minutes on a Boston team with a depleted C rotation.
Kon is showing good activity early. He hasn't gotten a lot of touches because McNeely is sort of making the show about him
Kelly has the skillset of a 4 but the footspeed of a 5. i dont think we should expect him to be hanging around the perimeter at all defensively
Kalkbrenner looks good too
McNeely heard me talking about him![]()
You’re probably right on that. I’m more hoping he plays 4 because HB’s rebounding and defense is really jin bad. Will be interesting to see how many minutes he plays next to Wemby and Kornet.
The dearth of rim protectors has to be a draw as well. Good luck and stay healthy.
Weird to see players in Hornets uniforms playing with any kind of intelligence.
Easy to see Salaun’s potential. That size, agility, and shooting potential is looking good
As the resident Bassey stan... even I can recognize he wasn't it, and IMO it just wasn't health. He just doesn't know how to play basketball the way a winning team needs out of a backup C. He's undoubtedly more physically gifted and even on par skill wise with Kornet, but I think we're going to see a night and day difference between them just on BBIQ.
Bassey is an emergency 3rd C in this league, and you better hope he doesn't blow out his knees in practice in the meantime.
McNeeley looked quite good all around. if you chalk his late season shooting slump to coming back from injury he possibly wasnt fully healed from... he could end up being a good steal for Charlotte
he inexplicably continues to find ways to get rebounds despite not being much of an athlete
one might say he's a basketball neophyte
seriously though, i usually thought he impacted games well, and his per minute production was always quite good. the problem is last year he set his career high in games played with 36 while playing 10mpg. he simply wasnt available enough. he was also pretty unskilled offensively, so lineups had to work around him. i never thought he was a high end or good backup, but i thought he was capable.
its just hard to rely on that when he's consistently hurt despite such low wear and usage. i know you love the darko stuff
and then when you factor in expected salaries, age... arguments could be made. but its really the dependability imo
This summer league camera definition feels like I’m back in 2010.
Kobe Brea looking like the sniper he is early for PHX.
Surprised to see Alex Sarr getting Summer League minutes
That Tre Johnson highlight. I’m not sure if it was accidental or intentional. Awesome either way.
Essengue looks so damn skinny out there. Like Kevin Durant skinny. Just without the skills.
If I were a Wizards fan (and praise allah I am not), I would be concerned that Alex Sarr isn't dominating, or even really doing anything in, this game
Sarr has such a low motor. Jaren Jackson level rebounder. Doesn’t go after offensive rebounds at all even when it’s just his man between him and the basket.
