I still use 8 track, cause CD's suck.![]()
Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous to say that HD sucks. Sometimes it hurts my eyes, but I can't stand standard tv anymore when I have a choice to see it in HD, especially for the 360.
Well I paid quite a bit of money and for what?
At the time there were something like twelve HD channels, and of those only about eight were any good, and only maybe four to six of those channels were 100% true HD all of the time.
That's a lot of money to pay for such few channels, and other than that the only other benefit was my 360, sure Gears looked amazing, but it just wasn't worth the money.
I know Time Warner recently added A&E and MTV and FOX, but it's going to take more than that...
You don't notice the difference between regular and HDTV and you get mad when people don't notice that you lost a "little" weight.
If it's too costly, then fine, but don't bash it cause you can't afford it.
gaming on a 360 with standard def
Some people tell me you don't need a HD to game with until you get spoiled by actually gaming on a HD.
Gaming on a 360 over VGA on a CRT monitor ruined me for gaming on an HDTV over crappy component. The picture is so much cleaner when you have it output to VGA. The difference between the VGA signal and the component signal is almost as much of an improvement as is the component over the composite signal.
I guess ill find out soon bcuz in a week im making the transition to hdtv. thanks 2 income tax.
well that sucks.
in other news: Test Drive Unlimited is pretty cool
I find it funny that they have "missions" where you have to drive stranded models home with their shopping bags.![]()
I liked the game at first, but driving someone around for 10-15 minutes and then crashing (and upsetting the passenger) really blows after a while.
Um, drive better? j/k
I just like the MMORPG feel of it. You can just cruise around a real Oahu and just pull up to another random Live player and challenge them.
Don't get me wrong, it's a e game, it just gets frustrating. And it's the other morons that need to drive better![]()
Oh yeah, the AI and other dumbasses can be idiots, but that realistic with the amount of wreckless drivers on our real roads.
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes
I am currently playing this game. They went to release, only release is actually beta. This is so normal nowadays, it doesnt even frustrate me anymore.
Anywho...for using a severly modified Unreal 2.0 engine, it sure is a system hog. If you arent using a AMD 4600+ (or intel equiv), have 2GB of RAM (+more) and at LEAST a GeForce 6800 (or ati equiv), dont bother even trying to play this game.
Its waaaaaaaaay more in depth than WoW (crafting, diplomacy, adventuring), but is "lighter" than SWG (early release, not that FPS crap theyre passing as SWG now). Combat is highly interactive (thats a good thing). Anything 2 levels above you solo is going to be an absolute challenge, youre only going to win with some REAL luck (or specific buffs). 3 lvls above? Youre dead...that simple.
I havent grouped with anyone yet...I think that has more to do with me (im anti-social).
All in all, a good game. The fact that I am paying to beta test is disheartening, the myriad of in game bug is highly frustrating, the lack of clear direction is as well. But it does have serious potential, that much is evident.
I think I am going to play Burning Crusade next month and check that out. I just dont like the mechanics behind WoW anymore...the endless quest for gear in 40 man groups, gear that 10 other people want, DKP for teh suk.
Tiger Woods 2007 coming soon for Wii.
It's about time they have a good solid sports game.
They had some "Pangya Golf" B.S. that was def nor worth it.
My friend got Guitar Hero II as a late xmas present and it's so damn awesome.
Free Bird is such a badass song to play on medium... I can't quite get to 5 stars though : /
I quit Vanguard. Waaaaaaaay too buggy. Im not paying for beta.
I installed Burning Crusade, hooked up with my old buddies, and am enjoying my casual playstyle (although they are hardcore). This is what I needed.
hopefully it's better than tiger woods 06, that game blew ass. i loved every single game before it, but they took a step back with graphics and gameplay with 06 imo.
^Me and a buddy have been playing Tiger '07 on the 360 and it has been a solid game. Definitely WAY better than '06 on the 360. There are more courses to choose from, you can play the PGA tour, their are also some pretty cool training events and a world tour/tiger challenge you can go through to improve your golfer.
Only two major gripes about the '07 version:
1. No fantasy courses like in '05, '04, etc. Those courses were fun, hard..but fun.
2. Lack of items in the pro shop. I remember playing '05 and '04 and there were just tons of items to choose from in terms of equipment and clothes. Not much there in the '07 game.
anyone have any recommendations on a gamecube to vga adapter? i just got a 22" widescreen lcd for my computer and i want to play the new zelda game on my monitor...
Yup. It is what it is. SuperCop in a slimmed down GTA world.
Dont expect anything, and its pretty fulfilling. Start wanting it to be something it is not (ie genre busting, story driven, etc) and youll be sorely disappointed.
Besides, I am going to sell my Halo 3 beta on Ebay.
Winning Eleven Pro Evo (360) is pretty damn good for the soccer fans.
Cabelas Alaskan Adventure is pretty "different".
I can shoot people not stop on GTA or GoW, but give me a mission of killing 2 foxes and 2 rabbits and I start feeling bad.![]()
