And he wasn't even good at that in game 1.
ACTUALLY Casserly was nearing the end of what he was doing for us..what pisses me Off is THAT we knew he was leaving 2 years before he did. WE continued to let him draft for us and paid the price for it. Dunta and Ryans were the only 2 good things he got for us. I guess he was defensive minded. Yeah I would have loved to have VY and we could have traded carr and maybe D. Williams (or whatever his last name is now)before cutting them both. Mario however im glad we got over Reggie. I just am not sold on Bush being a feature back. Yeah he is quick in the open field but cuts too much in the backfield and can't pound the ball. He will only be good with the way the saints use him.
And he wasn't even good at that in game 1.
Well the Aints got shut down by the Colts, I don't expect that to happen every week.
McAllister will have a better year that him, and I have a sneeking su ion that he will get hurt before the year is over.
Who get hurt, Bush or McAllister?
As a Texan fan the passing on Bush was a mistake yes.
Vince Young?
Thats to be determined, but, I have no problem with their direction.
David Carr IMO is a good QB. Hes never had an HONEST shot.
Anyone that tells me, Carr had an honest shot and an honest chance at winning with the Texans may not be a liar, but they aren't being totally honest with the situation.
The offensive line never gave Carr a shot. Period.
guess who's not on TV in austin again? hahahaah
It's hard to be a good QB when you're always been plastered into the turf.
However, passing on Vince was a HUGE mistake.
How has Carr not had an "honest shot" in the NFL? Matt Schaub has already done more with that Oline than Carr could ever have dreamed of doing. Carr's a bust, plain and simple.
Carr did have a fair shot, is schaub the answer? Only time will tell!! He does seem quicker and smarter in the pocket. The O line is healthy unlike what Carr had last year, however it was too little to late for Carr. He was too s shocked and being a backup will prob be the best he will get now.
Bush would be good as a slot receiver.
2-0 for the first time in Fran History. Once the off was clicking they looked great and controlled the game. Was this a true test, for the offense it was. Even the commentators said that for the NFC defenses it doesn't get much better than Carolina. Well either way our def looked really good on the pass rush. Okoye is a beast in the middle!!
Carr wasn't good at making decisions and that was shown in his sack totals. You can't pin it all on a poor line. Schaub doesn't around.
I'm not so sure given that they were able to pick up Schaub. Schaub + Williams may turn out to be the better scenario than Vince + whoever they could have gotten with the picks they gave up for Schaub.
he is showing me a lot right now, he is smart and there have been some plays where Carr would have gotten sacked.
Nice Texans article

Looking for a playoff sleeper? Try Houston

Come December, Houston will be in the playoff conversation.
That conversation begins with coach Gary Kubiak and the offensive philosophy he brought from Denver after spending 11 years as Mike Shanahan's offensive coordinator. The foundation is a strong running game, but it must be complemented by explosive plays in the passing game. And Kubiak, like Shanahan, is adept at producing big pass plays with formations that scream "run."
A great example is the 77-yard touchdown pass from Matt Schaub to Andre Johnson in Week 1. It came out of a two-back, two-tight end package on first down; Johnson was the only wide receiver on the field. The Texans had running personnel in a running formation. The Chiefs' defense responded accordingly, and Johnson got behind the secondary for the touchdown. That's smart game-planning.

Schaub is impressive. He understands the timing and rhythm of the passing game, makes quick, smart decisions and is accurate. He also gets the ball out quickly to the right receiver, which will make the Texans' line, long ridiculed for its inability to protect David Carr, a better unit. You won't find the Texans near the bottom of the NFL rankings in sacks allowed anymore.
The line has showed signs of being solid overall, and Ahman Green's skills have not deteriorated. He remains a strong downhill runner who attacks the line of scrimmage and keeps the offense out of long-yardage situations. The Texans now can finish games by pounding the ball on the ground, a critical component to playoff contention.
On defense, Houston starts three former first-round picks up front -- end Mario Williams and tackles Amobi Okoye and Travis Johnson -- and is demonstrating consistent improvement against the run. Williams, vilified a year ago because he wasn't Reggie Bush, will never be a quickness-and-speed pass rusher, but he is showing signs of playing with power and leverage.
Dunta Robinson, another former first-round pick, is ready to emerge as an elite corner. He's physically tough, confident and has a short memory, a must for the position. Each time I study Houston on film, Robinson flashes. And there's DeMeco Ryans, one of the few middle linebackers who never comes off the field.
The Texans remain a work in progress, but the foundation is there. Don't be surprised when they are playing meaningful games in December.

Neither Vince Young nor Reggie Bush has lived up to the "No-Brainer Number 1 Pick" status given to both of them by the talking heads last year.
?? Vince led his team, a team that had started 0-4 and looked horrible before he played, to a winning record with him as the QB. He has then come into this season an has led his team to a win over a team many considered superior in the Jaguars and then followed that up by leading his team to a 1st down or two within beating the defending champs. If his receiver doesn't get the critical drop on 3rd and 4 the ans would most likely be 2-0 and the Colts 1-1. He may not have the best stats, but the guy leads to wins. After all, isn't winning the entire point to playing football?
Yes it is. Vince does it with less talent too.
