Trump won by our current rules.

Have you ever tried cross examining a witness not knowing what they were going to say and having no do ents? Do you have any idea how this works? Why do you think lawyers take depositions and request do ents?
It's not all or nothing. Dems will campaign with Trump as part of the message (you can bet every D congressional challenger in a tossup district/state will show plenty of photos of his opponent shaking hands with Trump) but the Presidential candidates in particular definitely need to have a better message than "I'm not Trump."
