Oh...um...no reason.
The UFC dropped the ball on Jorge Masvidal…wtf. Although you can’t blame him for going for the ESPN exposure…

Oh...um...no reason.
"The Russian Bear" Oleg Taktarov was on hand for Affliction's "Day of Reckoning" press conference in Los Angeles, taking in the action from the sidelines of the press area.
The UFC 6 tournament winner has kept quite busy with acting projects in recent years, with major roles in studio films "Righteous Kill," "We Own The Night," and "National Treasure."
Recently, he worked on a reality series set in Atlantic City for Russia's biggest television network. led "Back on Track," the show takes ten down-on-their-luck fighters who need a second chance at glory. He enjoyed the experience, but the gambling city soon wore on him.
"I got bored a little bit," he said. "I want to get more excitement."
e TV has already offered to carry the show in America, but Taktarov says the producers are not interested.
"It's not just about fighting, it's about accomplishing something in life," he told MMAInsider.
Taktarov, 41, says he is injury-free and is playing soccer in his spare time. Fighting is not on the horizon, but could be...for the right price. He fought twice in 2008, ending a nine-year layoff from the sport.
"Once I get good offer in the right time," he said. "Those two fights, they came at just the right time, they were good money."
- HAZELETT OUT; RYAN MADIGAN STEPS IN TO FACE SAUNDERS
Thursday, January 22, 2009 - by Damon Martin - MMAWeekly.com
A change has been made to the upcoming UFC 96 card slated for Columbus, OH as MMAWeekly.com has confirmed that Dustin Hazelett has been forced out of his bout against Ben Saunders due to an injury sustained in training. Ryan "The Lion" Madigan has been tapped as a replacement for Hazelett, and according to sources close to the fighter he has signed the bout agreement to face Saunders in his UFC debut.
Fighting out of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Madigan steps into the UFC with an impressive 5-0 record in MMA compe ion, as well as an extensive background as a professional kickboxer.
Madigan works out of the Jungle MMA training center based out of Ohio, and during his kickboxing career held a record of 8-2 as a professional, and 18-2 as an amateur.
Although the Ohio native has a solid kickboxing background, Madigan has also worked on his ground game, and has submitted his last two opponents, including a win over Brandon Pierce, who trains with Team Jorge Gurgel.
Saunders made quite an impression in his last fight after battering UFC newcomer, Brandon Wolff, with a series of Muay Thai knee strikes that left his opponent beaten up and finished in the first round.
At this time it is unknown if the bout will be featured on the main card or undercard for the show which will feature a main event of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson against Keith Jardine.
Bummer. That was a fight I was looking forward to.
AMIR SADOLLAH INJURED, OFF UFC FIGHT NIGHT FEB 7
Friday, January 23, 2009 - by Damon Martin - MMAWeekly.com
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The run of bad luck for "Ultimate Fighter" season 7 winner, Amir Sadollah, continues in his post reality show career as MMAWeekly.com has confirmed that he has been forced out of his upcoming bout against Nick Catone at UFC Fight Night on Feb 7.
At this time the severity of his injury has not been confirmed, but sources indicated that the fighter suffered a broken clavicle in training that pushed him out of the fight. Calls to Sadollah's management were not immediately returned.
Sadollah and Catone were originally scheduled to meet in November 2007, but a last second leg injury forced the "Ultimate Fighter" winner off the card and instead of finding a replacement, the UFC opted to push their match-up back to February instead.
Before his previously scheduled match in Nov, Sadollah had a leg infection that put him in the hospital and out of action for an extended period of time, and if the injury reports are accurate, this latest ailment could keep him sidelined for an undetermined amount of time as well.
Good maybe Anthony Johnson will take his place!!! Where he deserves to be...THE MAIN CARD!

UFC TO OPEN NATIONAL CHAIN OF FITNESS CENTERS
Tuesday, January 27, 2009 - Press Release courtesy of UFC
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The fastest growing sports organization in the world, the Ultimate Fighting Championship in partnership with New Evolution Fitness Company (NEFC), on Tuesday announced plans to launch a nationwide and global network of UFC gyms.
“UFC Gyms is something we’ve been looking at for a long time, it completely made sense to me when we found the right partner in Mark Mastrov – this is the guy who has created some of the most powerful fitness brands in the world,” said Dana White, UFC President. “UFC gyms are going to shake up the fitness industry the way UFC shook up the sports industry. All the energy and excitement that we have brought to the fight business we are now going to bring to the fitness business. There is going to be something for everybody at all levels – from first timers to world class athletes – we’re going to get people excited and motivated to work out and get in great shape.”
“UFC Gyms” will be the first major brand extension for the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the all-time industry leader in the sport of mixed martial arts. In alliance with NEFC owners Mark Mastrov and Jim Rowley, developers of many of the world’s most successful fitness brands, UFC Gyms will give UFC enthusiasts and fitness seekers alike the opportunity to practice the training techniques of famed UFC athletes, such as Georges St-Pierre and BJ Penn.
UFC Gyms will provide all-around training, conditioning and health options for men, women and children of all ages.
“I have been a long time fan and admirer of the UFC. An introduction from a friend, Perry Rogers, to Lorenzo Fer ta and Dana White of the UFC, immediately sparked the idea of combining the strength of the UFC with our expertise in the fitness industry," said Mark Mastrov, co-Founder, New Evolution Fitness Company. "The manner in which we approach business, the style in which we run our companies and the passion we share for fitness has made this an easy decision and a natural partnership. The fitness industry needs innovation, it needs something to get excited about and we all agree that UFC Gyms will deliver on that in every way."
Curious to see how those gyms turn out...aside from being a -fest...
I wish 24 Hr had big tires, kettle bells, etc...mix it up a bit.
Quinton Jackson le Shot With a Win Over Jardine
"Yeah, I think if Quinton beats Jardine, he'll get the next shot at the le," said UFC president Dana White following Wednesday's UFC 94 pre-fight press conference in Las Vegas.
And that is regardless of the outcome of a key battle at UFC 94. Lyoto Machida, the No. 4 ranked light heavyweight fighter in the world, and No. 10 ranked Thiago Silva are slated for a showdown in the top undercard fight at UFC 94. Both have been on a tear through the 205-pound division and both are undefeated.
But while the winner of Machida vs. Silva is likely to narrow the field of contenders to the le currently held by "Sugar" Rashad Evans, it appears that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson -- with a win over Keith Jardine at UFC 96 on March 7 -- will jump to the head of the line.
White has stated in the past that Jackson vs. Evans might have already been on tap, but Evans was not fully recovered yet from his le victory over Forrest Griffin at UFC 92, so they put Jackson and Jardine together for the Columbus fight card.
I'd love it if Jardine won. Something about people being set up to win and then losing anyway makes me happy.
So if jardine wins Machida or Silva (depends of the outcome) will be given a chance to fight Rashard?
I wonder
In a world with some justice, yes. In reality, no. If Jardine wins, the UFC probably makes him fight the winner of Machida/Silva and Forrest Griffin gets a rematch for the le.
Jardine screws up everything too much. If he could be more consistent that would be great
^^^^^^^^^^^^really interesting
talks about affliction & Fedor as well as a lot of interesting info on Oscar..
His stance on Fedor will never change unless he's got him locked up...just have to ignore it. Promoter speak. You could shoot holes all in his reasoning for saying Fedor is over-rated...
Dana and Mr Dio...![]()
He's just a promoter doing his job...he works for the UFC not MMA.
Anway who cares about that...how about how the sleazy Millen not posting all the texts? Or how about how Oscar gets 20%?
Damn they are hemorrhaging money

I don't really believe Dana on the Oscar thing...he has no credibility as far as I'm concerned.
Didn't pay close enough attention on the texts thing...but it wouldn't surprise me as Millen is a giant ...
Not happening, they would have to wait too long for jardine (till November maybe?)
Forrest is noit ready yet I assume. Or I may be wrong.
We could also see a lyoto/thiago vs Forest and then fight for a le against rampage who will get a chance earlier vs Rashard
haha![]()
Well Affliction denied that Oscar was paid 5 million. If they deny 20% then we will know.
Forrest can't fight till 2010 with his hand injury.
Sorry yall, we had a severe ice storm, and power has been down since Tuesday. They dont know when power can be restored...could be up to a month. We finally got a generator, so Ill be around.
