Given the massive role having homefield plays in winning the WC...the French tying in what was basically their own home field is much less impressive than Team USA doing it in a place they couldn't even fly their flag.

You seem to be reffering to some kind of foreign Soccer leagues, in which case I must respectfully disagree...the only way to get better is to inspire the athletes here, on this soil, see Pele in Brazil...you aren't going to do that playing in bungholesia.
