I do agree he prolly could have made it.

little is gained being on third with two outs. Only a wild pitch or passed ball or balk or maybe an infield hit scores in that instance.
"Prolly"? I dunno 400 feet you sure about that?

"a wild pitch or passed ball or balk or maybe an infield hit scores".
Just game winning stuff, that's all.
You can add "an error" to the list. If you add all those up I'm sure the %s are way the better then by remaining at 2b.

In the end, all the Rangers did is take out the two teams that would have clapped Houston’s cheeks, and laid out a red carpet for another Astros World Series. Baseball is a cruel game

Phillies probably still win the series but their Pen is falling apart. Can their 3 starters still stay perfect.

Craig Kimbrel is totally washed. Singlehandedly blew two games.

Did you see in the Braves series with a base runner on 2nd he purposely balked to force them to 3rd?

Craig is heavy on mental control. Inserting him without a Save situation is not wise.

Brutal. Really sucks when a bullpen/reliever ruins what should be a legendary baseball moment for a city.

    *Question*

Do the Phillies have the most pressure of the remaining teams? Been talking Rematch/Comeback all year. Nola likely gone.

Astros pegging in the 8th of an even series, in a game you are losing is beyond ballsy in today's MLB

Enormous win. Best club since atleast the 3x Giants.

To the contrary very little is gained from tagging and going for the fly out and advance to third though I do agree he prolly could have made it.
The runner was about halfway ensuring he would score if the ball fell.
If he was tagging there would be little chance to score if the ball fell AND little is gained being on third with two outs. Only a wild pitch or passed ball or balk or maybe an infield hit scores in that instance. Going for it with no outs is a good play because you could score on a fly out.
Risking getting thrown out at third making the last out of the inning would be poor baseball.
You are just too stupid to get it
actually tagging would have been ideal. he gets to 3rd and scores easily on a wild pitch or passed ball. because of this threat it puts pressure on the pitcher to not throw a wild pitch.

I get your point of going halfway and trying to score if it hits the ground, but it was a routine deep fly ball. It was a higher probability that the ball would be caught.

he should have tagged and advanced to 3rd.

well you are allowed to disagree.

I know the announcers and anlysts usually blow it out their asses, but most of them are former MLB players and WS champions. even they were questioning the base running decision.

regardless of which side of the coin you choose, it is all moot since Pressly struck out the final batter of the game.

Quality of the NLCS went down after the Playoff expansion

No coincidence both those teams defeated the AL in the WS and neither of the teams last year/this year will

20 years ago, maybe. I am not like that anymore. Plus, I am not 100% confident that the Astros will win the series. I know this year we have pretty much owned the Rangers, but most of that was in Arlington. Texas is a very scary team with tons of offense. Houston is one of the worst elite teams at home in a long time. It is absolutely amazing how two-faced they are.....on the road they are the Incredible Hulk, but at home they are Bruce Banner.

I feel strongly that if we don't win game 6, the Rangers will win the series in 7.
