This is the difference between todays game and the 80s and 90s. I don't care what anybody says the playoffs today aren't near as epic as they were back in the day. The last great playoff series I really saw what the Kings and Lakers. Everything else is too hot and cold.

I tend to agree, but there were blowouts between the Lakers and Celtics during the Magic/Bird era.

I've always considered the Magic/Bird era to be the best basketball I've ever seen. You had legends at every position.

For me, the NBA started to go downhill with their 80's/90's expansion, which produced a watered-down league, which led to the Jordan era.

My take, for what it's worth.

Boston has seemed to me most of this season to be headed for an early playoff exit.

However. Game 1 vs. the Heat, they seemed headed for yet another home loss and suddenly started playing the defense they did two years ago.

Now, that was just the Heat, but still, it has to give Boston confidence.

This is Boston's last shot with their big 3. LeBron has 10 years ahead of him and will probably win 2 to 3 rings in that span, whether he stays or goes.

I won't pick Boston to win it all, let alone the east, but they will beat Cleveland if they can get a split in the first two.

Really? Terry has had better numbers this year but I'd say it's a wash. They are both chuckers, with no D, and tend to disappear. When they do disappear, they are pretty much useless. Exhibit A = Mo Williams tonight
