Unreleased masterpiece
Why do you have wavy hair?
Curlers, dood. It was all the rage back in the day.
You know they ruined hair bands, right?
Didnt Kip Winger go on to write a lot of music for other people?
curlers
floyd, ccr, the doors, iron maiden, slayer... too many to list.
313 posts in 2 days? Is this a record for threads not about the Spurs winning a championship?
calf tats???
shinedown and sevendust are also two that come to mind...
...so gay...
They didn't help, but I think the real scapegoat for the death of hair metal is Warrant's "Cherry Pie."
Full disclosure... as a 13-year-old 7th grader who got into modern rock and hair metal AFTER Nirvana killed it, one of my first CD purchases was Winger's Pull album, which came after their popular peak around the time they were being mocked on "Beavis and Butthead" and, frankly, it ain't all that bad...
Ah, the coup de grace.
I stand corrected. I remember hearing the lead singer talk about Cherry Pie, he was so ashamed it almost seemed to have ruined his life.
I appreciate your honesty, that took balls (for being on an anonymous internet forum, as it were).Full disclosure... as a 13-year-old 7th grader who got into modern rock and hair metal AFTER Nirvana killed it, one of my first CD purchases was Winger's Pull album, which came after their popular peak around the time they were being mocked on "Beavis and Butthead" and, frankly, it ain't all that bad...
I was 8 in 1988/89 (headed for a heartbreak) with two older brothers. Winger wasnt on the set list, so to speak, but I remember them well (along with Nelson, Cinderella, et all).
What surprises me most and is an indictment for its time, Winger was considered heavy metal by critics of the time. I remember Adam Curry doing Metal Top10 (or whatever) and it was full of crooning hair bands.
With your disclosure, here is one of mine.
This is one of the better love songs ever written, for its simplicity and harmony.
Faith no More, and Alice in Chains. There are more, but I am still trying to figure out the heirarchy.
I don't go to deep into music like some of you guys. I don't know the history or what's considered true rock or fake rock. What it boils it down for me is...if it sounds good I like it. I don't need to justify it to some one who thinks their musical taste is better than everyone elses. I like some of limp bizkits songs ...along with lady gaga....so?
I mentioned those cause some of you seemed like you were getting a stroke just cause some one says they like them. I like other stuff mentioned as well not just them. But I pick and choose cause well it's my taste. Just cause I like some of linkin parks songs don't mean I will like others they have. In all honesty some are horrible as the same with radiohead. I like some not all some suck sorry to break it to you![]()
I don't expect a chick to know anything about music.
