2 years ago, Spurs send a league wide mail saying that they would trade their pick while in fact they wanted to keep him to draft Batum and had Hill as plan B.
Hoopsworld isn't a reliable source but if the rumor about Spurs wanting to trade their pick if true, it could mean that they have someone targeted (Bertans or someone else).
Exactly. You can't really take any sources seriously or even the Spurs themselves in many cases.
But when you look at things that were said like RC's "trade comments" to not hear a whisper on that end, but to hear "rumors" that they want to trade out of the draft makes you think two things:
1) They really have a player or two they like in the draft
2) There is nothing going on because the Spurs don't have a lot of assets to trade.
I think you previously suggested they'd draft Mirotic; that's who I'm leaning toward right now.

so according to Wojnarowski from Yahoo the Spurs try to trade Tony for a high pick and that there is interest from late lottery teams to trade the pick for Hill.
the latter would explain, why the Spurs worked out several guys in that area.
what pick could Tony land? (report says it could be #5 or #7.)
#2 seems unrealistic, Wolves won't trade for another PG. (but who knows, it's the Wolves). Jazz have Harris. (Tony for Harris plus the #3 pick isn't realistic either).
but this means for 2 days we can speculate about any player (outside Irving and likely Williams).

my pick: for the higher pick it would be Valanciunas, for the late lottery it's Harris.
