I wouldn't a signed him for a buck. But, they thought he was the second coming of Jesus here and they are bitter.

This lends more credence to my "Crawford + pieces for Ariza" theory from earlier:
The only reason we would even want yet another shooting guard is if Jamal's gone, tbh....
true... i'm not sure i agree with that direction though. Crawford has been perfect for them. but they just keep stockpiling 2-guards, so something's gotta give
I disagree that Jamal has been "perfect" for us, tbh.... Doc clearly wants to emulate the Spurs, hence his choice to install the motion offense last year and why he's started to value floor spacing and passing above everything else in his signings.... Jamal's iso-chucking and lack of any other skills when his shot isn't falling doesn't fit with the direction the Clippers are going in - that was clear as day during the OKC series when the starters would move the ball at will for long stretches until Jamal checked in and completely destroyed the offense....
We also haven't had a legitimate starting small forward since Maggette left and we have very little cap space, so we would need to do a sign-and-trade to get anyone decent....
after trying to overpay gordon hayward they proceed to overpay marvin williams![]()
Meanwhile, Stephenson's best offer is less than $9 Million a year.
Not even Jordan is dumb enough to offer det boi Lance eight figures.
Our bigs rotation would be insane with Blake, DJ, Hawes, and Ed Davis.... still need that small forward though....
Knowing you guys you'd grab another spot up shooting 2-guard![]()
Looks like Bird was being overly generous with his 44M offer to Lance. Not only did the dummy cost himself money with his antics, he even cost himself during free agency as well.
