I keep waiting for that Lonnie who went head-to-head with Harden. I think he is that player, but overthinking out there. Just play ball.
I put my hands on my face when he ran into DeMar on a play
I hope the Spurs have the guts to use him as trade bait

He doesn't look like he'll ever become a good defensive player. Not enough grit in his game.
Whatever happens this offseason, I hope these guys are the rotation guys next season:
Murray/ Tre
White/ Vassell
Keldon/ KBD
Luka/
Poeltl/
That's 8 players. Fill the other spots with anything.
I just don't think Lonnie fits with this team or buys into the system. I think he will have to go to another team to realize his true potential. Trading him may be in the best interest for both sides.
but he doesnt play good D
I’m a big critic of Lonnie. But I think he’s still learning out there, getting instructions every time from Patty. He hasn’t figured it out. I think he will surprise us. And when he does, with all his skills, it will be a fun ride.
Totally forgot we had a game today. Wtf happened? How did we finish 0-3 against the tanking Thunder?
Before this year I wanted them to package Murray, and White being the better PG. And boy how DJ is proving us wrong in his 5th year? Lonnie is on his 3rd, likewise from injury. He’ll get it.
Not strong enough, don't know if it's balance or lacks functional strength because he is at 205 now. Standing reach also is not that long considering his wingspan maybe because of the long neck. Couple that with his processing speed and lack of instinct. He can stay in front of guys and can get skinny on screens but he does not have the reach or reflex to contest that well.
This guy. Been ting on me for weeks about my Lonnie take and then just types this post. Nice troll man![]()
We need Lonnie to be good on offense just Bryn Forbes level good is a huge win, but offensively he is so bad as well not about passiveness anymore he stopped making shots.
Waiting for the light bulb to click for you on what those posts mean. Ask Dejounte.
What a disappointing game before all star break. Good thing the break is here so the guys out from covid will be ready to go by the time the 2nd half starts. The Spurs could’ve, and should’ve taken both games against the Thunder...
Thunder always rock our world for some reason. Doesn't matter who or how
Wayyyyyyy too early to give up on Lonnie. Only 22 years old and didn’t technically play consistent minutes until the bubble. At worst he’s going to be a pretty dang good spot up three point shooter.
Cosign!!
This is what ppl are forgetting....it's not like Pop has some masterplan of developing them...they have always been good...they just needed real playing time with this group...it has always been by chance Pop realized his young players deserve real minutes
1. When DJ went down and White got out the doghouse
2. Like u said, injuries forced him to play Keldon
3. LMA injury forced him to play Jacob
4. Covid forced him to play Luka
5. Injuries forced him to play Vassel
If Luka never played, ppl would still think he wasn't ready, and wouldn't have known his defense was this good... The young players today are more ready than they have ever been for immediate impact... There are rookies on better teams that have been getting more minutes than our young players...young players we wish we had, but trust me if we drafted them, they'd be in the G-league, or getting spotty minutes every other game
He doesn't have that dog in him for sure...
Look at pat Bev...lonnie is definitely more physically capable...he just doesn't have the defensive instinct, nor the drive...he grew up soft...he never had someone on the court better than him talking him, till he felt the need to shut him down...he grew up wanting to save tigers, and he has always been far better than ppl in his small hometown...ppl may clown this post, but thats my belief
Lonnie seems content just being good enough... He doesn't seem to have the drive to be great... Luka seems to have that dog in him where he will try to be great... He isn't shy on offense and he seems to take it personally (insert MJ meme) when defenders try to go at him... He doesn't shy away from shooting when he misses a shot, and he doesn't shy away from contact... We have a couple guys with dog in them, but ironically Lonnie is the most gifted, but has no dog... At least be a shi tzu out there, bro... At LEAST be a talker... Lol
If u have never been to a strip club, it's very easy to get the media image of what goes on and who goes to them...I've been a dj in several...and many times it's very chill ppl that go there...often with their significant other to hang out... usually in strip clubs celebs don't get bothered like in a regular club...so him going there with his chick is very on brand, imo...
Lonnie could have all the “dog” in the world in him- but he has 0 ability to anticipate where his man is going off the dribble from the triple threat and allows a first step blow by every time. It’s an extension of his failings on offense- a lack of ability to anticipate what the opposition will do and think ahead to beat them to the spot.
Derrick white would have gotten the SGA assignment in the last 2 thunder games without covid. Lonnie is not ready for that type of assignment, and it’s possible he never will be. But his ability to stick as a rotation player, and certainly as a starting player will be contingent more on his defense than his scoring at this point.
Thunder were terrible last night, Spurs managed to be worse.
