He didn't tackle him in the middle of floor while he was going up for a shot.
Sweet Christ. Now he's tackled him in the middle of the floor? To Bill Brasky!

Terry throws a punch at Finley's groin and he is suspended, but it is somebody's else fault.

Mbenga goes into the stands and gets an automatic suspension (and the league has been crystal clear about this due to the Piston Pacer brawl), but it is somebody else's fault.

Stackhouse intentionally throws a forearm into Shaq's face, makes no play at the ball and follows through sending Shaq flying off the court into the cameras and gets suspended, but it is somebody else's fault.

First time is strange and a cheap shot, but one hopes that it is an anomaly.

Second time and you have to wonder what is going on.

Third time and now we have removed all doubt. This is a pattern and it appears to be a conscious and consistent effort to intentionally play dirty and take cheap shots. And then deny all personal responsibility when you are appropriately suspended for it.
Terry was clear cut...threw a punch...anybody that complained about the suspension is an IDIOT...

Mbenga...forget about that. You act like he went crazy and ran up into the stands? He walked into the stands with Cuban to make sure everything was ok...he wasn't even on the active roster. This suspension has nothing to do with your assessment that the Mavs are "playing dirty"...forget it...

Stackhouse's foul was a hard foul and IS debatable. Just look at the national media and how many are saying he shouldn't have been suspended. He didn't send "Shaq flying off the court into the cameras"...Wade knocked Shaq into the cameras by accident. Keep exaggerating though ...like the guy that said Stack tackled him in the middle of the floor. WTF??

Bottom line...he got suspended. The Mavs are still the better team even without Stack. 2 games left in Dallas...not worried...

Why are all you Dallas pansies still whining about this?

Posey shoulder blocked Hinrich in round 1 on a breakaway and got suspended one game.

Stackhouse does the same, and is suspended... 1 game.

Other than the fact that your boy Stack ed up on the biggest stage in pro basketball, what's the problem? All I see is a couple of you saying "yeah, but it's the Finals." So ing what.

Take your own coach's advice - he has begged for consistency from the officials. Stack's foul was damn near identical to Posey's (only difference is Stack's was 10 feet closer to the rim), and he got the same penalty.

Seems pretty simple and straightforward unless you have a whiny ass Dallas agenda.

Look in the Avery media thread for the flagrant foul rules Mavs' fans. I posted them there for a reason.

You don't have an argument on this. The foul was excessive and unnecessary. If Stack played the ball, you might have an argument but he didn't. He wanted to make sure that Shaq didn't embarrass his team with a dunk. Stack's admitted that in his comments.

Get over it. It's a consistent call.

I fully agree with you two... the foul was in no way directed at the ball...

    Quit whining ppl.

A hard foul is flagrant 1 max.... Flagrant 2... you know you're home the next game.

How hard a decision would it have been for Stack to wrap Shaq up rather than elbowin the guy? I understand its the Finals. I want Stack to be there too. But ... it was up to Stack to make a play - A SMART PLAY - and look at the end results.

Stop fussin over Stack and worryin about that dude... Let him sit at home and mope over it. It's his fault, he will deal with it when he does.

Look at the other Mavs. Maybe more concern should be spent on thinking about who is gonna step up rather than who stooood dooown*...

Isly it is these types of plays that either make or break you. People forget that the Mavs have never been in this position before. Like you said, THIS IS THE FINALS. Nothing is given here.

I agree with you. If Stack just wrapped him up and slowed his progress, it was just going to be a shooting foul. Would that have slowed the momentum down? Of course not but it would have been the smart play.

This goes down with Manu fouling Dirk and most definitely with Rasheed leaving Robert Horry last year in Detroit. I'm not saying that this play will win the Heat the series but with Stack out, it makes a win for Dallas that much more difficult. That bench has just been whittled down a player and it just so happens to be one of the important pieces to that team's success.

I def agree... the bench has been whittled... And I sure as dont wanna see MARQUIS DANIELS WITH MORE THAN 10 MINS. I think thass pushin it personally.

This will def go down in that list... I peg it second under the Manu/Dirk foul...

Just silliness on both their parts.

It sux... but it is what it is... Not much we can do about it but play on, right?

Really, had Stack let Shaq go, he might have hung on the rim and gotten a second tech.

I don't think Shaq would have hung. The way the floor spacing looked, he would have been allowed to do that because of the close proximity of players who could get hurt when he came down. If Stack was that close, imagine what he would have received when Shaq gorilla dunked.

The best thing Stack could have done was just let the play pass but he didn't. He was to boneheaded at the time.

Well, he could hang. That's allowed if others are coming behind. I thought I saw him pull up on an earlier dunk, that's why I brought it up.

    Nice comeback.

What is this obsession with hating on the Mavericks? It's become an epidemic. I really don't understand it.
Well obviously your buddy dirk4mvp didn't know what they are, and judging from what you were calling me out for, neither do you.

As for the obsession with hating on the Mavericks, I don't like them. That's all there is to it. I'm sure you don't like all 30 teams in the NBA either. The only reason it seems like people on here are obsessing with hating them is because Mavs fans can't hold an actual discussion without seeming like idiots. Occasionally there are a few of y'all that can contribute quality responses to threads, but for every good response, there are 10 "spurs fans are whiners" or "spurs suck" type comments. Oh and it doesn't necessarily have to be Spurs in those quotes; you can replace Spurs with any other team in the NBA not named the Mavs. It may be unfair to judge all Mavs fans based on those re s, but given the timing of the swarm of Mavs on this site, its understandable. Most of the opposing fans on this site who get any respect have been here for a while. They didn't just join to talk trash after their team swept through the first round. Perhaps if y'all learn to stop acting like 6 year olds on the play ground, then others will respect you and your team. This doesn't go for Cuban though. I don't think theres anything anyone can do to get that man any respect.

Actually if the Mavs did play like six year olds on the playground they may have won game three...

Seriously though I've got to agree. The majority of Mavs fans who trash talk haven't been on this board long enough to even be considered 'family'. You gotta come in here with respect and not just when your team plays the Spurs. That's weak and gets you no respect whatsoever. Now if the majority of them came in here let's say, when the first game between them was played during the season, they may have gotten some slack.

It's akin to me going over to Mavtalk.com when the series started and just bang on them if the Spurs had won. Totally classless and imbolsilic in nature. Worse still, the good Mavs fans that come in here and contribute some worthwhile debate/discussion get embarrassed by the other idiots who claim to be Mavs fans.

With both of those statements... thats to be expected is it not?

Its done on all forums, all over. No matter what teams. Fans do it everywhere.
Spurfans do it, Mavfans do it, Sunsfans do it and so on and so forth.

You cant just say it about the Mavfans... bc its done for every team.

I could understand the frustration when it comes to ppl joinin your board.... but on a lot of boards, ppl join and are still clumped with those "classless" fans just based on the team marked as their favorite.
