The bucks aren't interested in our offer for Magloire so it looks like that won't happen but Buckner is a good defender and i'd take him.
I hate Buckner. He's a little .

Spurs Brethren:
Some understood my last post that Tim really does play center a lot of the time and is better at it than anyone else in the league. Regardless what he's called we need Tim near the basket, not trying to cover a 6' 10" inch jump shooters. We also don't need Bowens to do that! IMO that plays into every other teams hands.
Dallas showed that without someone to cover Dirk we were forced into disadvantagious matchups. Everyone seems to be loading up with big 3 point shooters: Dallas/Chroshere, Fakers/ Radmonovich, Clippers/ Thomas etc.
What we need is a center to replace Tim at times and enough players Williams/ Javokas/Horry[?] to cover the big perimeter shooters. Tim is an offensive nightmare for any other center in the league. Dampier/ Diop probably took 10 fouls a game trying to stop him and Tim still averaged 38/14.
Who ever the Spurs plug in at center will only be a situational player. Any team with a moblie power forward will cause Duncan to move to the post defensively and a mobile player will have to come in play defensively. With the power fowards in this league being more mobile wing type players we will see more play from the Spurs with a mobile power foward. The need for this position is probably more important as this will be the type of play most often used around the league. Any slug center will probably do in that Chicago and Miami may be the only teams you really have to match with a conventional inside game.
Have you watched the Javtokas video? Not the most mobile player, by any means, just the most mobile center we've had since the heyday of DRob.
The Spurs don't need a bad ass center. The Spurs have handles business with decent centers. I think Jovotkas can play center leaving Duncan at PF. I think the Spurs should acquire Pollard. He is a hustler with good rebounding skills. The Center position anyways is becoming an extinct position in the NBA. I am not worried about the Center position. Jovotkas is a strong machine who can handle his own defensively and is agressive. Something the Spurs have been lacking at the center position for awhile.
People are going to be very happy with Javtokas. He's certainly not a savior, but he's an aggressive, strong, athletic player with a mean streak who doesn't just love contact, he absolutely adores it.
Exactly Body. Jovotkas is not afraid to throw his body around and create contact.
When we won it all in 2003, I would hardly call 5-0 mobile.
I actually think a third lunch pale type player would be cool. Javtokas, Oberto and #3 could provide us a return to the bruise brothers.
Was the first lame thread not enough for you?
This kind of sorry-ass repe ive posting will earn you a trip straight down to the Spurstalk developmental league, son.
So head on down to SpursReport and we'll see you back up here with the big boys after you've grown a pair.

Another in the BlockThe Blazers are thought to be trying to trade disgruntled forward Darius Miles, and (Steve) Blake could be a player to package with Miles. If the Blazers sign Rodriguez, they will have the maximum 15 players under contract, something team President Steve Patterson said he wanted to avoid. Pritchard, however, said it was Przybilla, an unrestricted free agent who agreed to re-sign with the Blazers, and not Rodriguez who put Portland at its maximum."
Duncan averaged 32 and 12 but yeah he did wipe his ass with the Dallas centers.
He definitely has the athletic abilities to play here. That's not in doubt given his muscle and hops.

The only person that forced the Spurs into "disadvantagious" matchups is named Gregg.
Exactly! The old heads know this but the panic crew are ignoring it.
As for you Ed, we just jawin dawg!![]()

At this point, I would trade Brent Barry/draft picks and maybe Beno for Al Harrington or get Chris Wilcox in a sign and trade.
Wilcox really showed up after he went to Seattle.
we can all dream...
Harrington can play the 3 and 4, is 6'9, a good defender, and talented offensive player. I'd give one of your kidneys for Al Harrington.

I want to bring in a new thought. Do you think the Spurs would think about trading Manu if it was the last option at a good big men? Just imagine they don't get Javtokas, Butler and Elson. What to do? If Manu would be the last chance to get sombody good next to Tim, would you do it?
Something like: Manu for Camby; Manu fot Boozer, Manu for J.R. Smith + X (not based on salary just some names that came into my mind)
If it was the last chance I would probably trade him for Boozer:
Boozer/ Oberto
TD/ Bonner/ Horry
Bowen/ Williams
Finley/ Barry/ Donta Smith
Parker/ Vaughn*/ Udrih
Note: This is just for the case that the spurs would get NO good big man... I would not trade Manu if there are other possibilitys available... I would also try to trade Barry/Williams for a athletic wing...
i would actually go with one of those trades involving manu.i like Boozer, but i guess its time to give up on the JR Smith thing, since he was recently traded to Chicago, but who knows.
we settle for ELSON.....![]()
