Could be I missed the point of the series, but I don't think you're really supposed to end up happy that Michael ends up in the game.
I also love the foreshadowing that took place in Season 5, you can see a new generation on the come up.
Michael Lee - The New Omar
Slim Charles - Avon Barksdale
Sydnor- McNulty
Kenard - The New Bird (?)
And a few others I can't recall right now.
Could be I missed the point of the series, but I don't think you're really supposed to end up happy that Michael ends up in the game.
Who said I was happy?
Not happy but it is what it is.
Bodie is always number one.

I thought Prezbo was second only to Bubbles in terms of most interesting character arc (I consider Dukie to be part of Bubbles' character). Dee would be my #3 and Ziggy my #4.
how in the did you pinpoint that one?
Prahps
I watched the commentary over one of the episodes and Michael Williams (Omar) mentioned it.
This was one of my favorite scenes, just shows that if these guys were just raised somewhere else they would've actually gotten a chance to enjoy being kids. I'm always sad when they had to go back to their hood![]()
For police/politics, I'd go..
1- Bunk
2- Carver
3- McNulty
4- Freamon
5- Rawls
6- Landsman
7- Clay Davis
8- Burrell
9- Sydnor
10- Daniels
As for the streets/crime, I'd go..
1- D'Angelo
2- Brother Mouzone
3- Stringer Bell
4- Omar
5- Marlo
6- Bodie/Poot
7- Slim Charles
8- Avon
9- Chris Partlow
10- Wee-Bay
Most disliked characters..
1- Cheese
2- Kima
3- Brianna Barksdale
4- Scott Templeton
5- Nerese Campbell
6- Fruit
7- Ziggy
8- Marla Daniels
9- Nick Sabotka
10- Colocchio the cop
11- Namond
12- De'Londa
13- Prezbo
14- Mcnulty's wife
15- Valchek
You're crazy. That scene of Colocchio throwing the hoppers' nikes down the storm drain was classic. Then trying to play a hardass with Carver when he was trying to help him was hilarious.
Downright ignorant to consider bodie and poot the same character, tbhhh
Mouzone was one of the few weak characters on the show. There was never anything that would make one believe he was some kind of great muscle other than the talk about his rep, so seeing he and Omar portrayed as relative equals seemed forced. The only other character I didn't like was Nick Sobotka. Seeing him as someone who was able to negotiate with Cheese and intimidate Frog into not shorting him before The Greek had his back seemed pretty unrealistic. Nothing about Nick said person to be respected and feared.
I don't consider Bodie and Poot to be the same character, but I wanted to include Poot on my list, so I listed him as a sub-character to Bodie, tbh, a sidekick figure..
Disagree about Mouzone..as you said, his reputation instilled fear, there was no time nor requirement to thoroughly build his character..Prop Joe and Stringer's reactions to the mere mention of Mouzone provided a glimpse into his past IMO..
His persona and dialogue is great, as were his interactions with Lamar..
I don't see any way that the writers could have displayed Mouzone's muscle to satisfy your criteria, tbh, he's an out-of-towner..
But they did build it into his character with how he came back on Omar. By sending Lamar to the gay bar over and over again. I hated the standoff scene between he and Omar.
Nick commanded respect out of the simple fact he was not a like ziggy.
I don't think those guys really respected him, but they sure as did not disrespect him, just look at the way he talked and confronted them.
Even from a purely physical standpoint, Nick was towering over most the east siders he ever confronted.
I never found it a stretch why those broke east siders gave Nick a package

am I the only one who thought season 5 sucked? I know they had 2 less episodes to deal with, trying to re integrate mcnulty back in after he was essentially on sabbatical but that homeless story was just not consistent with the wires writing . On yeah the journalism focus was boring.
I guess the last tv season curse is real. I hope breaking bad doesn't fall victim too![]()
Season 5 was great. The journalism angle was a lot better than the ty docks.
I agree about s5, but I liked s2. More than anything I liked how the show moved from area to area season to season.
McNulty was unable to stay away from being himself, I thought that was very consistent with his character.
I got the impression that he was able to get away from himself at the end in the same way Bubbles was able to. Still, Freamon had the best post-series prognosis, since he got a paid retirement to go Shardene all day, lol.
Just watched the first 3 episodes of Season 2.
Tried watching it before but made it through half an ep. Seems better this time, dunno why.
Definitely worth keeping on to get to seasons 3, 4 and 5?
my wife had never watched this show, so we just finished the final season.
it's like my 3rd or 4th time through the series and it seriously gets better each time
Ok peeps, I'm gonna try to watch this series, again.
I gave it a try a few years ago.
4 is clearly the best season. but dont know if you can wait till that far away. season 2 is hit or miss for people. by the time you get past 4 you;ll want to finish the series even if season 5 was mediocre.
