SO ive been training in a boxing gym for 3 weeks now, I am still toying with learning jujitsu next, how long should I do boxing first? I was thinking for at least 6 mo to a year.
Why not do both? If you have the time and money...
Or join an MMA gym if there is one close to you and do everything...
I have alot of BJJ gyms down here. I have the time i just would like to get a job before school starts and i need a damn car.

Now wait a minute ufcjunkie....Leben is a fee agent and I thought he was leaving the UFC for ICON.I thought he burned his UFC bridge. I am not sure I believe that fight is happening.
He was supposedly going to HI / ICON, but they left the door open slightly to re-sign with the UFC I recall. Who knows..maybe a 1 fight deal just for this fight. They keep finding ways to get Leben in high profile fights (ie, headliner of UFN's, etc). I wouldn't mind seeing Swick whip up on him though...
You know how Dana is though. And he publicly called out the UFC / Dana and openly talked about another organization because of money. Plus the guy has only won 1 of his last 4 or something and Swick is on the upswing. I dunno.
I think I would like to see him fight Franklin.

Swick might've gone to Dana and told him he wants another shot at Leben. He's wanted it for a while, and if Dana and Leben are cross-ways, he just might give it to Swick hoping to send Leben packing with another loss, while getting Swick back on the winning track at the same time. Who knows!

During the Q&A session, Dana was asked about how long it would be before we would see Fedor in the octagon and who is first opponent would be, his response: "Near the end of 07 or beginning of 08, and his opponent will be whoever has the heavyweight le at the time, no need for a warmup fight for Fedor"
He was also asked about Wandy/Chuck, he responded by saying that this fight WILL be happening and it is the next fight for both of them , he is just having a difficult time negotiating it with both parties. Also, he said that the winner of Wandy/Chuck would most likely receive a le shot against the winner of Rampage/Hendo which by the way IS a unification bout and will be for both les. However, he also noted that this might be complicated due to the recent signing of Shogun and that he could possibly receive a le shot before the winner of Wandy/Chuck depending on how the negotiations for that fight go.
Also, Dana was asked about Chris Leben and said that his next fight will be against Mike Swick.
Someone asked Rich whether he would rather face Silva or Marquardt and he said Silva due to unfinished business. When asked what he would change about matching up with Silva next time, he had a funny reply: "Try to stay out of the clinch and try to avoid blocking his knees with my nose"
Roger Huerta said that he would like to fight Melvin Guillard soon, due to his NC with him earlier.
Dana said that there is no dislike for Nick Diaz, he actually said that he really wants him back as soon as his NSAC suspension is over.
Dana would rather Rashad win but says that o will most likely be fighting in the UFC for a while to come no matter what.

Last week I heard on Beatdown Sokoudjou is still under contract with PRIDE. This will be interesting.
And eliteXC will be running in the red handing out this much in salary. Crazy stuff.

I've never trained boxing so I can't speak for it but I would imagine it's similar to jiu jitsu in the sense that nothing can replace hours upon hours of mat/ring time. Learning the techniques is not enough. You have to drill the out of them in live sparring situations to become proficient.
Good News! I got a job at an ice cream parlor. I think now my grandma might let me have her car full time so i may sign up for some REAL Bjj classes
I thought Leben-Swick was going to be the main event of UFN 11.
