No doubt.

And can actually guard Dirk.
No doubt.

Oh, she'll swallow....for the Rockets!!!!![]()
Fixed."We're planning to sign Luis,'' Morey said. ``He's excited to play in Houston. We expect to see him in a Rockets uniform next year. Luis is very motivated to come to the league and play the Spurs four times a year for the next decade.''
"The Spurs gave us permission to not use protection while consummating this acquisition.''
My thoughts exactly. This is a ing terrible deal!
Scola = 1st Round pick
Butler = 1st Round pick
Butler & Scola = 2nd Round pick?
I'm no mathematician but it doesn't seem like it adds up!
Stupid.
The silver lining is whenever the Spurs make their next trade it probably won't be as bad as this one.
Wait for it... Scola signs for 3 years, a total of 3.2 million. And locks down Dirk![]()
Maybe they'll use it to extend Barry.
Cueing Bruno to tell me they can't extend Barry and this was an awesome deal.
CHECK THIS OUT,
He was acqured in 2nd Round , RIGHT? so so then, he was traded for LUIS FLORES (55th overall) RIGHT? So thenhe was traded for LUIS SCOLA and BUTLER.
wow. So where is Luis Flores????? lol
Selected by Dallas in the second round (50 th overall) of the 2004 NBA Draft … Rockets acquired draft rights from the Mavericks in exchange for Houston’s draft rights to Luis Flores (55 th overall) on June 24, 2004 … signed a multi-year contract with the Rockets on July 19, 2006.
You know what - hope he hangs 37 on Duncan and the Spurs in next years play offs and the Rockets repeat.
Just to shove one down RC's throat.
We couldn't get Lior Eliyahu out of this?
I wouldn't go as far as to say that, I hope the man kickss ass up until we kick his, and that will still show RC, but not cramp our style![]()
If that happens, RC will just say, "see, draft & stash works!"
Sorry i know your serious. Just the thought of anyone disappointed at not being able to acquire a basketball player with that name.
remember when people thought we could have made a trade deal like this for Nocioni?
yeh maybe that could work too
The Spurs couldn't even get the Rockets to take Beno and get back Lucas back? I mean, there's absolutely no silver lining to this trade at all. The Spurs didn't dump a long-term contract. They didn't even freakin' get under the luxury tax threshold. The difference in Butler's contract and Mahinmi's contract is something around $1.5M.
In actuality, at most this put $6M in Holt's pocket. Trading away Beno and a couple picks for cash would have put $5.4M.
So for $600K, the Spurs gave a divisional rival two scoring options on the post.
Holy crap.
While this trade is beyond comprehension, I can't say whether it will make or break the Spurs' chances of a repeat. That's the only non-negative (won't say "positive") thing I can say....and that's the only time I'm going to say it.
They magically transformed a late 2002 second round pick for a late 2009 second round pick. If that's not victory, I don't know what is.
Yeah this was a stupid ing trade. Problem is, most in SA won't figure out what just happened.
Surely they would have explored that idea. Theres something else in the works. In the mean time tho im quite happy to keep feeding RC to the dogs
Rockets gave up nothing and simultanously filled out their front-line rotation.
Scola will play next to Yao and they'll bring Butler off the bench. This trade sickens me....
Are you kidding me? All these years I've been hearing about Scola, and the Spurs just give him away? I haven't read all the pages in this thread, but I'm guessing this was either a move to free a roster spot, or to save money?
Spamalicious and a second round pick.....wow. Someone ed up in the front office.
Does this mean you all are bringing in Mahinimi and Javtokas?
