Scola played well offensively -- Estebanish even -- but as so many Argentinians told me, the game meant nothing to either team, so I can only conclude any individual performance meant nothing as well.
    Not me.

By the way, great trade the FO came up with there, buddy!

If Houston beats the Spurs in the playoffs, I'll agree it was the worst trade in Spurs history, buddy.

As it is, it costs a team to dump salaries -- why not do it with a player you clearly didn't want?

Mardigan, you have said many times that, in the NBA, Bonner > Scola.

Do you reralize that statement is void of any meaning?

It is like saying: "As far as NBA play, in 2002, Manu was no match for Brent Barry"

    What the does that mean?
Then WHY DID YOU TRY AND START ARGUING WITH ME?
If its a true statement that cant be argued, whats the point?
I also posted that after next year, Ill probably have to retract my statement, but right now its true. So What was your point?
And again, I never said it wasnt a crappy or good trade, but I know it got us Udoka, and who knows who that pick will end up being, and who knows how good Scola or Butler will be for the Rockets, so Ill hold off judgment until I can see a more clear picture of how the trade turned out a couple of years from now

So this game was extremely meaningful to both teams?

There lies the problem, why didn't the FO want him?

Chump, stop this sitcom sketch already. You are repeating yourself with the "It's meaningful... ohh.. it isn't... oh... it is... oh... "
You are really smart when trying to pick a fight. I'd just say you are too bored.

Scola is decent player even for the NBA. You don't like him, we get it.

Because it is a stupid statement, void of any substance.

Must be nice balancing on the fence.

Don't roll your eyes. This is exactly what you all are implying.

There lies the problem, why didn't the FO want him?
Ask them. Maybe he was as big a as some of these Argentinian posters and changed the Spurs' mind.

And that s the main question that Ive wondered myself. Either they knew he wouldnt play much here because of Tim, and maybe he didnt want to come off the bench. Or they just didnt think his skill set would be a good fit here. Either way, I trust the SPurs fo, they have a pretty good track record so far.
And its better for Scola anyway

No, Argentinians came up with the "meaningless game" excuse once he got his third foul. Now that it's over and he ended up with 20, he's a lock to be a star in the NBA.

    Which is it?
Scola is decent player even for the NBA. You don't like him, we get it.
He might be a decent NBA player.

    Might not.

You don't like me because I don't think he's an automatic NBA star. I get it.

You should know all about that huh?
Why waste time responding then? Trying to show me how stupid my statement was? Get your pantys in a bunch whenever someone isnt all over Scolas balls like a lot of people on here?
Its not a stupid statement, its a true statement. And with your rep around here, I really could care less about any insult you throw my way

Why cant I wait and see about a trade? I have to decide now?
I think most trades take a long time to see how they turn out

You saw the game, you tell me.

I saw Scola, the guy whose game you said would not transale well in the NBA, drop 20 / 5 against the NBA's elite in only 18 minutes.

Vassilis Spanoulis was a star in FIBA ball vs. the NBA's elite, too.

I saw Batisita drop 10 points in one quarter on them without taking himself out of the game with stupid fouls too. Everyone knows he is an established NBA star.

You tell me exactly what this game meant to Argentina. I'm getting different stories from Argentinians depending on which Scola stat is being discussed.

I don't know for a fact what this game meant to Scola or the Argie NT. All I saw was Scola playing with passion and having a decent game.

I find it funny that the people who blindly trust the Spurs FO (you, mardigan and others) never miss the chance to bash Scola.

He did look very good on offense, but he also wasnt be guarded by a NBA pf the whole game. He scored a lot of his points of of easy layups, but he moves well without the ball, and with Yaos passing, he could very well get a lot of easy looks next year
Hid d isnt great, but the foul trouble might be attributed to him having to guard sfs all game.
The only problem I saw, was that he did have a little trouble getting deep post position against smaller guys. I just want to see him play against an actual NBA pf

How am I bashing Scola if I am asking YOU what this game meant to the Argies?

I am bashing Argentinians who are talking out of both sides of their asses, and now I'm bashing you because you're being a pussy and not answering a simple question.

I have simply not been convinced Scola will be a solid NBA player, and since many Argies who have more balls than you said yesterday's game was meaningless, I'm still not convinced.

Why wouldnt we trust the Spurs fo? They got 4 les
I find it funny that a lot of the Argies here are showing their true colors with this issue
Never said the guy wasnt good, just that he has to prove it in the NBA. If he gets those easy looks and knocks down those jumpers in the NBA, Ill think hes good, just like every college player or Euro player that comes over has to prove they can play.
I thought Bargnani was going to suck ass, and he was the 1st pick, he proved me wrong.

    I never said that.
That's right, you said nothing about the game, so your opinion about Scola's play in it doesn't count.
