please tell us, what's that like? Spurs would have a record similar to Boston if not for various injuries to the Big 3.
Where do you think the Lakers would be right now if Bynum, Gasol, and Ariza never went down? The Lakers would be head and shoulders above everyone in the WC.
The Spurs have a fully healthy team right now outside of Brent Barry and they are still can't beat quality opponents. Blown out by 25 against NOH, lost to the Shaq-Suns, lost to DEN, blew a 22 pt lead against the Allen-less Celtics, lost to the 76ers, etc. The Spurs are not playing better basketball than anyone else in the WC.
We lost Steve Francis - signed to be our starting PG, then our starting center (Best player on our team) and then our best bench reserve in Carl Landry.
But the team kept on winning.
You are right, Tmac is not even close to as good as Kobe, but Tmac is a much better facilitator than Kobe and the Rockets have continued to win because they pass the ball and usually have 3 to 5 players in double figures.
It is easy to play the Lakers now, they only have Kobe, if you try to guard Tmac alone he passes...big difference.
DD
Bull .
T-Mac has health problems, but when healthy, he is up there with the best in the league AND makes his teammates better. He isn't as good as Kobe, but I would say no one in the league really is right now.
These past few games, he passes it around (gets assists) and rebounds the first three quarters while scoring some points along the way. He'll probably go something like 3-11 the first three quarters. In the fourth, he turns it on he starts going 4-5, or 6-7 from the field.
LMAO!
1) D&C glosses his teams ability to generate posts in a thread but when you look at this thread, half the posts are from him.
2) D&C claims the Lakers would be head and shoulders above the rest of the league even though he's never seen Bynum and Gasol together and his team (even with the supposed MVP) is losing to the crappiest teams in the league.
3) Laughs at Spurs for losing to Shaq's Suns yet the Lakers and Suns were in a one point game with a minute left in Shaq's FIRST game with the Suns. Something tells me the Suns are going to be much more in tune and will easily dispatch the Lakers if they meet in the playoffs.
4) Laughs that the Spurs lost a 25 point lead to the Celtics even though the Celtics absolutely destroyed the Lakers twice. The Lakers can only wish they could have had a big lead against the Celtics to feel good about.
wow..are you fukin serious?
yet we still become the first west team to 50 wins hmm... were done for!![]()
It's easy to kick a team when they are down. Funny how the haters never show up when the Lakers are winning. Where were these 11 page threads when the Lakers beat UTA on the road? That game thread barely cracked 2-3 pages.
probably because of the hype of the lakers..... they are expected to beat utah.... it's "slightly" unexpected for them to lose to two lottery teams back to back; both were very winnable games. add kobe haters and you have a 12 page thread on a spurs forum
Dazed it is simple. The Lakers are back and this is only the first year (after 4 years of being average). Haters know they will have to worry about this team for the next several years. All I want assuming we dont get the le this year is to have something to build on for next season. We are the big bad evil empire. It's nice to be back and it is ever sweeter that we arent going anywhere for a long ass time. This team is going to be together for the long haul.![]()
They are expected to beat UTAH on the road without any bigs???
If you disregard MEM and CHA's road records they are teams that matchup very well with us when we don't have a center.
Hey dumbass, YOU started a thread about how Kobe Bryant was going off and had 32 points with four minutes to go in the half. Then the Lakers lose, Kobe gets laughed at, you look like a dumbass and you have a temper tantrum, spewing hate towards every team in the western conference.
Its not about the Lakers, its just youre obnoxious. If YOU didn't start this thread and kept it going, no one would be talking about the Lakers.
i just expect a lot out of the lakers....
but seriously though.... the latter part of the comment is true.... any top western conference squad that loses to two lottery teams in a row will spark a huge thread; this holds especially true for a much loved/hated team like the lakers.
I have no problem with people make threads about the Lakers losing, everyone is fighting for a playoff spot and these games are all important. Just a little annoyed at people making the extra effort to piss and on the Lakers when they are down (especially when they are severely hampered by injuries).
Amen to that. Except I'm sure one thread would have been started about the Lakers losing. But hey, when the Spurs lose to lottery teams, fans of other teams (Lakers fans included) always start at least one thread about that. When we were sucking in January (some without Parker) everyone was telling us how we are done and are going to keep falling until we fall out of the playoff race.
So one Spurs fan represents the whole fanbase?![]()
Man, D&C is making a strong case for DPOY.
Emphasis on 'Defensive'.![]()
Defensive Pussy of the Year fer sure....
Because no other team in the west has had to deal with injuries?
Tell that to Yao Ming. Or Tony Parker.
You don't seem to have problems ripping on the Spurs when they were struggling or Rockets now.
btw - Losing Gasol and Bynum is no excuse for losing to the teams you've lost to. The criticism is warranted and deserves to be said. The Lakers will obvioulsy be much better when those two come back, but the Lakers still should have beaten Memphis. That team is basically a great COLLEGE team (Conley, Gay, Warrick, Lowry). There's NO EXCUSE for Kobe, Odom, Fisher, Turiaf, Walton, Farmar, Sasha and Radman to lose that game, regardless of those other two being out.
This is why people who don't know what they are talking about should shut the up.
Of course had you watched the game you would have known Odom sat for most of the game because he is battling a respiratory illness and Derek Fisher was limited due to a torn tendon in his foot. You take 3 starters off any team and they are going to struggle, no matter who they play. I'm not even mentioning the tweaked ankle and dislocated pinky that Kobe is playing on. So essentially you have Kobe, Fisher, Turiaf, Walton, Farmar, Sasha, and Radman vs. Conley, Gay, Warrick, Lowry, and Darko (who had a career high in pts). They abused our lack of a front court and that is what won them the game, we just didn't have the bigs to stop their penetration. The Lakers have played 10 games without Gasol and are 5-5, they had impressive victories on the road against DAL and UTA but clearly they are running on empty right now.
So please next time you post thinking you know something about basketball don't because you clearly don't know .
I know how to read a boxscore:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=280328013
When Odom was sitting most the game, was he on the floor at the time? I only ask since the boxscore says he played 37 minutes!![]()
And I wouldn't mention Kobe's pinky either since that didn't stop him from jacking up 40+ shots attempts. Maybe if Kobe loses his ego the Lakers might start winning more basketball games.
