Yeah, but this is like the fifth time they've gotten a tech in a close game. San Antonio, first Laker game, Denver, now the Lakers again. Why can't they get it through their skulls? Points are precious in a game like this. Mavs didn't shoot that great from the FT line either.

MAVS PROBLEMS still with the JKIDD trade:
1. they still give up large leads and lose their cool
2. the shooting guard position is hurting them (no true SG)
3. They play average defense
Yeah, trapping Kobe is a good idea, but using Dampier at the top of the arc is ing stupid.
I feel good about this team for next year. We'll probably get into the playoffs and be a tough, tough out, but they don't need much to get over the hump now that we've got Kidd.
Our defense is better now than what it was.

How does Vujacic not get called for the constant reach-ins? That's all he does on defense
Umm Sasha had at least 3-4 fouls in today's game. All from reach ins for the most part.
I think not having a fresh center in Diop and an extra 1.0+ block per game hurts somewhat the defense.
Improvement with Kidd tho.

In crunchtime, Mavs are so predictable. Dirk ISO, Howard/Terry/Stackhouse outside shot. They need Kidd to penetrate like Harris used to do. Kidd needs to look for his shot more IMO.
Also Mavs defense in the 4th sucked, they deserved to lose when you're giving up easy layups to Gasol and Odom.
Mavs need to ship J HO... The guy has talent, but his BB IQ is terrible.

Yeah, but he commits a foul pretty much every time. I'm not complaining, that's how the refs call it, it's just odd is all.

Josh is so frustrating. Super talented, does a lot of great things, but such a bonehead. IMO he should be the bait for a low-post scorer this offseason.
I think the defense is worse since Kidd came around... At least Harris knew how to flop and get a call, and Diop was a good backup for Damp...
The Mavs still have no answer for Kobe when he has the ball at the top of the key. You throw a hard double at him and Gasol and Odom rip you to shreds, especially if its DAMPIER that is coming to help. You go man defense on Kobe and he gets to the rim everytime.
Yeah for real.. I've noticed that I usually see avery chilled out a bit during the first 3 quarters, and then when it gets to crunch time, I see his ing ass get up and start calling those ing ass calls and we get outscored like 10-2...
Why can't we just play on the offense like we do at the start...
