I've noticed in my life experiences that those who believe in some God might talk to you about Him but have no problem if you reject Him. While atheists get violent over their opinion, they can't stand the fact you see them as being wrong.
i don't have a problem with a belief in a god, unless a person's belief warps their mind to an extent where they reject science or knowledge

I think a lot of the issue concerns this common sense thing you like to throw around. Common sense, at one time, was that Apollo's chariot ferried the sun around the sky. At one time, charms were thought to help prevent diseases. At one time, the earth was flat and the sun revolved around the earth.
The time is upon us - and by us I mean people like you and the vast majority of others - to realize weve reached a point so far past the aforementioned there is simply no valid reason for denying the factual nature of evolution or that all the religions are bogus. Were on a rock freefalling through space, nothing special about us, other than being full of life.
If you want to believe on God, go ahead, but in all reality there is no need for God anymore other than the fairy tales for a five year old whose dog just bit the dust.
The sooner people stop with the supersitious bull and realize there's a lot more to the universe than us, the better for all of us. I doubt it will ever end completely but there will come a day when no one believes the earth is 6000 years old anymore.
