Quotes from the father of S Marcell Harris after the official visit to Texas (OrangeBloods):
"The impressions are from the atmosphere, the facilities, the help that they have academically," Mr. Harris said. "It's the life after football. Coach (Duane) Akina and Coach Mack Brown, both of them are pretty stand-up about everything."
"This time, Marcell got to meet the players. This is the first time being able to take in a game situation, see the preparation of what they do in game day. It was a whole lot different than the other times," Mr. Harris said. "The other times were for camp, things like that, this time saw game situations and spent more time with people to see how it fits himself. It was a lot better this time because we actually did get to see those things. You see them on TV, but having the opportunity to see everything live in person is a lot better. He spent time hanging out with some of the players, so that was good."
"We just want the best situation regardless of where it is. All the schools he's looking at are very good. He wants the best opportunity to play. He wants to play early. Texas gives him that opportunity," Mr. Harris said. "(Kenny) Vaccaro graduates. You can't say anybody is going to step on campus and start, but they have upperclassmen at his position that will be leaving. And the schemes that they play, they play more spread offenses, so they have to keep five or six DBs on the field probably 75 percent of the time. I think that's beneficial also."
"The kid likes Texas," Mr. Harris said. "He saw some of the stuff that you want to see prior to making a decision. I would think that was more of a benefit, to have an opportunity to actually see Texas. He didn't have the opportunity previously before to see the game day atmosphere, see the student body go crazy. The game experience is always better than routine camps. This time he did get to see the campus, meet some influential people while there, the people that would be helping him if he went there."
