Exactly! Pop is going to do what's best for the Spurs!

Invite him to a jersey retirement ceremony and instead of the jersey being raised to the rafters, it gets set ablaze courtside.
He will never play in a spurs uni again, but he won't play in a Laker one either. You mess with the bull; you get the horns
Invite him to a jersey retirement ceremony and give him a microphone. That'll kill him right there.
Next time I come in here I'm cracking skulls.
this...and make him have to play all season with spurs, answer questions, etc. turn your life into for a season
Wouldn't be surprised if LaMarcus is traded before Kawhi
If you think that a player sat out when he really could've played during a playoff run and has been working with another franchise to get traded there...at what point do you basically say it and screw him over?
Leonard's a grown ass man, he knows what's going on, he's been a part of it. Oh, that's my agent just saying that - right.
They should have salary dumped Deng by attaching Kuzma, trade Lonzo and 25 for a top 5 pick tonight and come to the Spurs with Ingram + a Top 5 pick. That's a package worth talking about and you head into free agency with Kawhi locked up and enough space to land PG / Bron and retain Randle.
With how quiet it has been so far today I’m going to assume there will be a lot of movement in the draft. Usually when there’s lots of talk the day of the draft about moves being made nothing really happens. Whether kawhi gets moved that remains to be seen but I think a lot of teams will be dealing tonight
Agree somewhat. You would have to attach Kuzma and Ingram to that top five pick to get Kawhi off my hands if I'm the Spurs
ramona shelburne tweeted that the lakers had contacted the spurs FO about leonard last week and that the spurs basically shut the door on them.
theyll prolly get em next year but not now
if spurs end up going full rebuild then i hope manu wouldn't sign with the warriors. i could see them offering him a vet min contract. i could see a team like... the magic going after tony.
He's supposedly the former or perilously close. If he's brought back, there's no reason to think he wouldn't play hard or would act differently around his teammates than he has in the past. Doing the former would only cause further damage to his reputation and doing the latter would only make it more awkward for him.
Like I said, if it doesn't work out in the next year, they could trade him before the contract kicks in . . . only then they'd be able to command a king's ransom.
The future of the franchise is at stake. There's no place for pettiness or stubbornness. This isn't about rewarding him, it's about gaining leverage and control of the process going forward. Right now, they'll be lucky to get 2 somewhat significant assets.
Good. them.
Does Barry Manilow know you raided his closet?
Manu doesn't strike me as a ring chaser...way too much of a compe or that.
He's already a 4-time champ and a lock for HOF...a pity ring with GSW would probably only hurt that image.
LOL awesome.
That contract is a huge risk. He either couldn't recover over a full season from a minor injury or he quit on the team, sat out the season, and he's a cancer. I don't want to see the Spurs left holding that kind of obligation for the payoff of getting a little more in trade value after having to put up with his for another year in the absolute best case. You're still not going to get some kind of home run package. Trades involving disgruntled superstars never land you much. It's way too much risk for such little payoff. If he actually was committed to staying here the payoff would be worth it but he is done with this franchise by both his words and more importantly his actions this season.
