Playcalling and not making adjustments is a problem with the staff. Not just lack of talent on the team.
Look at the contributions we're getting from the junior/senior class... Except for Ridgeway, it's been a joke. Jim wouldn't be doing any better IMO.

I agree. It's an sad display with all the empty seats. The product sucks and people are voicing their dismay by not showing up.
The jackass athletic director was such an abortion EVERYONE hated him. Even coaches he hired were being undercut (even coach Strong).
I have now idea if the D-Line and O-Line players are any good. I don't think they even brought in a lot of D Linemen. The team was gassed in the second half due to the lack of depth as well as the Austin heat/humidity.
Once Texas had the Left tackle go out in the second half, the production of the offense went down the tubes.
The price increases for the season ticket holders must be reversed - that would be a good start for the interim AD. You don't jack up ticket/contribution costs by 40-50% for a sub-standard football product.
Patterson as AD was a complete cluster, and a lot of work will have to be put in by the folks in the athletic department from top to bottom to win back customers and good faith.
I don't think a revolving door for the head coaching position is a good thing either. Of course my opinion has no pull anyway.
Also, you will see addition by subtraction. Our senior class is mostly just embarrassing.
i can't blame this loss on strong. the refs fucced texas over big time. i can understand a few blown calls but this crew were calling some straight up bull in crucial moments. sucks for team.
Worst call I've seen in a long time
And the 15-year penalty on Charlie Strong. Holy those clowns were out for us.
Yeah that one was weird too
Texas loses on a game winning field goal in what was one of the worst officiated games in the schools history and people are blaming Strong.
Christ almighty why don't all you go fondle Mack's old balls until he agrees to come back and be your savior?
This will be the way.
Do games like the last two really hurt recruiting is what I wonder. ND was devastating. These last two have shown us some bright spots. I really thought penalties, calls, and our own f ups cost us. This stuff can be corrected. And the fact that so many freshmen are making an impact is nice for recruiting, right?
If I'm wrong just lie to me as this is becoming tortuous. I can see how we might not be able to recruit any RBs however. And I really want to believe in Strong. I wish we would see some instruction during the game from him. And when we went for it on 4th and 10... Did not get that.
I'm thinking about the future, not just this game.
Strong can't coach offense to save his life. But we all knew that.
Strong is equally as bad at picking an offensive staff. We fired two guys on the offensive staff after 1 year. I'm pretty sure two more are gone after year 2.
Charlie strong has no idea how to make adjustments during a game.
Charlie strong has no idea how to manage a game
The 15 yard penalty he got put the OSU offense in fieldgoal range for the tying points. And then when it was obvious we weren't going to score before the end of regulation he calls a timeout leaving OSU with a ton of time on the board. What the was that?
How can we hold the team accountable for poor play when we can't hold the head coach responsible for being a moron.
I think the point is our dline recruiting sucks right now as does our oline recruiting. We need a lot more than two guys, we aren't getting them right now.
Im one of the most pessimistic horns alum on this site..but the past two games played I saw the kids show heart and purpose. Strong is doing something here. You can see life that the program hasn't seen in six years.
Without the bull 30 yard penalty, without the missed pat, yall would be singing a different tune. So long as Heard and Malik stay healthy, this will be a monster team in a couple of years. Texas is in a good spot.
Phantom Calls From Corrupt Officiating Crew Bury Texas Longhorns

What about the last 20 or 30 offensive plays ran for 30 yards total? That falls on Strong and his staff.
Yep. Like I said, Teddy Bridgewater made Strong look good.
I guess the 3 1st Rd picks from 2014 or the 10 drafted in 2015 had nothing to do with success. Times like this when some fans just get plain stupid...
like Bridgewater wasn't the main reason for success of those teams. I do wonder what was the selection criteria that made Strong start the season with Swoopes as the starter.
There were several key drops by receivers during that span too. You gonna blame that on Strong as well?
The play caller is in his third ing week of calling plays with a QB that has only played D-1 ball the same length of time. You act like nothing has changed...like they are still rolling with Watson and trotting Swoopes out there every week.
I blame Strong for going away from Daje when he isn't the only one who had drops. And that's the problem. Playcalling became predictable once they keyed in on Heard. What did they do to adjust? Also Watson fiasco happened on Strong's watch. Wickline as well. Can he surround himself with a decent staff?
they didn't adjust
Is that why the defense shut them down in the second half?
Jesus Christ. I have been saying they didn't adjust on offense when Okie State keyed in on Heard. Now shut the up.
Again...you can't build ing Rome in a day. Expecting them to out the perfect offense and make all the adjustments on the fly in the first three games with a new OC and a new QB is pretty unrealistic. They made the right moves by going away from Swoopes/Watson. They've been in position to win two games against good teams since Norvell/Heard took over. Norvell has built an offense basically on the fly that plays to Heard's strengths and has made some decent adjustments like using Swoopes as the hammer QB on short yardage. He's also shown creativity with the WR pass play call that was a couple of feet from being a TD. Will Norvell be the answer in the end? That's yet to been seen...but to say he hasn't done a pretty damn good job with what he has on the time frame he's had to do it is just stupid.
Adjusting to the blitz so heard won't get killed should not be that difficult. Screens and slants.
