I still can't believe he's delusional enough to think the Lakers just need to find him a sidekick. He's now basically JR Smith but worse shooting and living friends.
I get that this is a major decision for the guy and there are those (myself included) who struggle to make those sorts of decisions without first gaining as much information as possible and trying to remove as much risk as possible from the equation. But the willingness to let people who had a chance and the bed come back into the equation and to let late comers into the discussion suggests to me that Aldridge probably isn't comfortable picking SA or PNX and is hoping that someone can talk him out of making either one his choice.
I fear this will not end well for the Spurs.

Aldridge felt first meeting with Lakers was too focused on non-basketball (Hollywood, branding, etc) and Lakers want to rectify it.
Agree if that's truly an issue for him.

The other person in the room who is also affected by all the dollars being discussed; his agent. That who is behind the return of the Lakers, probably - and who least wants to see LA in SA or Phoenix - used Phoenix to delay the decision to choose Spurs, while he keeps pushing big markets/endorsements.

O'Quinn at a reasonable price would be a steal. Koufos was marginalized in Memphis. Both younger than Splitter and may be able to do the same in his role. Both could be MLE candidates if they operate above the cap.
Also need to look for Splitter trade exception candidates.
Phoenix is not a major market. No more endorsements by playing there vs. San Antonio.
