Wow, judging by his offense, looks like he'll get minutes after all, hope he develops into a solid defender. A Manu-Dijon offense could be a wonderful thing to watch, just imagine.
You got that backward, only if he plays defense that he'll get minutes.

Thanks. If anything, if he can spark some compe ion there, it should be good, IMO.
So now that you watched the game what do you have in mind?

Liked what I saw from my man Bertans. Comparisions to Bonnet because of his height, shooting ability and physcial ressemblance aren't really fair to Davis. DB is more athletic and quicker than Bonner ever ways. His shot is also much faster.
    Riga time, indeed.

Murray has looked awful for like 3 games in SL and awesome for 2. The potential is there. All we need is time.

One minor thing I noticed about Mus is that, as skinny as he is, he doesn't push off to gain space. You see it as an example in the second play from his highlight clip. He's able to shield the ball with his preying mantis/walking stick body where most dude would be arm barring defenders and committing fouls. It's one reason he's a near-elite ball handler.

He is no defensive player, but he has quick feet and rotated, he was active at least he put in effort. He's slim though and will be backed down inn the paint and shot over. He doesn't rebound. He used length and verticality a few times to contest layups, but these Kings are so untalented that it's hard to say much. True bigs will give him trouble but we probably think the same about Kyle. Kyle is more active swiping balls away from bigs though and stuff like that, Bertans doesn't do any of that. I think he will be alright though but it depends what Pop has him doing. He was a 4 in this game and not matched up with anyone of significance.
Does every post have to be about Kyle? Lol holy i sense saltiness at the very thought of our new Red Latvian Rocket taking some of his minutes. Be happy and optimistic, it's his first NBA Summer League game and he made some big shots but still has time to improve his defense after getting somewhat used to the system.

Bertrans looks like he can contribute once he acclimates to the system, he can obviously shoot and he seems pretty good at faking the 3 and driving. Once he figures out where to kick out to, we can wreck havoc with the drive and dish. Exerted effort on d the whole time. Hopefully his length can make for his medium lateral mobility and he can be a plus defender. Wish he had played all of SL.

Murray has looked better every game which tells me he is listening to the coaches which is promising. He has the knack for getting into the paint and is bouncy and long enough for big rebounding numbers. He's also light in the shorts but is wily enough to finish around the rim. Lotta upside if he curbs his ego a bit and learns. I think he'll see a lot of early season minutes. PATFO need an energy guy with guts and this kid might fit the bill.

LJC was awful, just terrible. Couldn't catch , was passive and was a net negative.

Forbes could go either way but I'm cautiously optimistic. He has a nice stroke but not sure if he can get his own shot. He was great when set up though.

Had hopes for Lorbek but no way he contributes at the NBA level, couldn't do squat in SL. Don't feel bad though as KL and Bertrans are still quite a haul for Georgie. 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

If Arci had more assists, I'd be sold on him. He was great at managing and always seemed to make the right but safe pass. Since he isn't looking to score, he needs rebounds or dimes to stick around and I saw little of neither.

I'd def keep Moute's cousin over Cady and the rest for a last big, if we go that route. Seemed to put himself in good position a few times. Could be our more mobile Festus.

Was excited to see Hanlan but he did all. Looked quick but didn't do anything with it.

If Stokes was 2 inches taller, he'd be a rich man right now.

And does Murray really have a giant ninja turtle tattoo on his shoulder? Those are serious balls, .

Just finished watching the game, Murray was good, Bertrans looked pretty good considering it was his first game. Liked Forbes also.

Compe ion didn't look too challenging, tbh, but at least we got a peek at Bertrans.

His bounce pass to Bertans for a dunk with 30 seconds to go to tie the game was a thing of beauty. Maybe it was the angle, but it looked like it was through a lot of traffic.
Left handed bounce pass through some traffic. That was impressive.

LJC reminds me of Ndudi Ebi who was another guy the Spurs had interest in that turned out to be complete .

I thought that Riga Time acquitted himself quite admirably - especially given the fact that this was his first outing with the SL team. He will play a bunch of minutes this season. I can almost hear Bill Land exclaiming "Riga Time!" every time Bertans nails a 3.

Sure, I said judging by his offense, cause that's the only thing I'd seen.
