I love how the mma forum is owning every topic on spurstalk.
dammit...blu ray on netflix has a long wait on that...arg....
I'm off too gents....
Man, Cyborg vs Carano is going to be the most anticipated fight for me since Foreman Holyfield II
And I am not kidding. i really am not.
It should be fun indeed. I wonder if this card was enough to save EliteXC. They were close to ending last week.
I'm still shocked about the Ninja fight...that sucks. He has better luck in Japan. Radach hits hard. Bas wasn't kidding.
Mauro did much better tonight. I think for the most part, because they didn't let him talk that much.
How so? I watch mma but don't really follow it much.
Not literally. But this was their last shot.
via suqlegOk well Pro Elite (elitexc and cage rage etc) is pretty much dead following in the foot steps of every other org almost exactly. They Filed their 10Q and well in short they are ed.

Here is a good summary of things from MMAPAYOUT basicaly summing up how a company given everything they needed to excell managed to complately it all up.
http://mmapayout.com/2008/08/proelite-10-q/
Interesting things of note:
-Over 6 months they lost $25 million. In the quarter leading up to June 2008, they lost $18 million. this is the time when they had the big CBS show.
-They are completely ed on the CBS deal only getting $900 grand for the May show but having to pay them $500 grand to produce it. a total loss in relation to the deal 2.3 mil so far.
This doesn't even include the Stockton show which probably lost a ing mountain of money. God damn the MMA buisness is brutal. You don't just lose money you get bled to death. I doubt they will make it to next summer.
EliteXC in Trouble?
There is concern that ProElite, Inc (PELE.PK) is in danger of folding. ProElite is a public company that owns EliteXC, Cage Rage, ICON, ShoXC, King of the Cage, and is a part owner of the Korean-based SpiritMC. As a public company, ProElite is regulated by the SEC and must file mandatory reports. Today, the company issued its required SEC 10-Q report, which echoes industry concerns that ProElite is in financial trouble.
Highlights of the report include:
• A net loss of $24 million for the first six months of 2008.
• Writing down the value of its Cage Rage, ICON, and KOTC fight promotions
• TV License fees for their May EXC Kimbo card from CBS of $900,000 but a $500,000 payment to CBS for production of the card.
• “The CBS distribution agreement had no future value as the likelihood of realizing gross profit on the CBS events was remote”
This follows a string of negative press for ProElite over the past few months including:
• Canceling the Cage Rage Contenders 11 card 24 hours prior to the event last week.
• Canceling the EXC show scheduled for Sept. 20 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Strangely, this event was questionably booked into a huge 18,000 seat arena with the show to be headlined by Joey Villasenor. UFC 87 in Minneapolis only drew 15,000.
• EXC July 26 in Nick Diaz’s hometown of Stockton, California only drawing approximately 1,500 paid spectators and viewership of this event on CBS dropped over 40% from the May show that Kimbo headlined.
• The ousting of EXC front man, Gary Shaw, from the company.
• The dropping of the ProElite stock from $15.00 to $2.40 low in the past year.
The road to MMA profitability is strewn with skeletons of hopeful organizations (WFA, Pride, YAMMA, etc..) Hopefully, ProElite gets back on track because more promotions mean more fights for viewers like me and more money for the people who really deserve it – the fighters.

I don't get it.....so they were already millions and millions in debt and only kimbo winning would have changed that?
I am more inclined to keep watching now that kimbo got his ass kicked. I want to see it happen again.
lol the UFC is where it's at.
So is it the end of the world for bad asses like Gina and Cyborg? Are they easily able to switch to UFC once this Elite XC falls under?
only elitexc shows woman fighting so pretty much yes
The UFC does not have women. I really don't know where Gina and Cyborg would go if Pro-Elite went under(they own multiple orgs including EXC). Evan or Leonard would have to answer that.
That's ing bull
MMA is ing lame then.
not true.
well strike force too but unless you got HDNET
StrikeForce has women's mma and so do some smaller shows that are not really mainstream.
