ACORN got likely Democratic Party voters to register. O' Keefe's sting, bogus though it was, trashed their rep.
The motive was political: hurt an organization that helps Dems at the polls. The meme in the background of undeserving, clientelized minorities was just ideological gravy IMO.
True, it was sleazy. But that's why organizations should have standards... so they're not made out to look like sleazebags
That's my whole point about not legalizing torture, or calling out soldiers that do something stupid on camera, etc etc. Do I expect everyone to hold up to the standards? Of course not. Heck, lots of good people fall short.
But if ACORN had some company training, and were able to point to that and say, "Hey, look, these people were outliers and didn't follow the recognized policies/principles/standards" I don't believe the fallout would have been as bad.
If the librul media hadn't naively passed off O'Keefe's heavily edited/overdubbed videos as authentic, to say nothing of his bogus tale of passing as a pimp, the fallout wouldn't have been as bad either. The MSM let itself be a passive megaphone for a malicious hoax. Shame on them, too.
And all of the cowlike dummies who let themselves be led by the nose, for that matter.

In all fairness the M$M did try and resist this story for awhile, but under the pulpit of the wing-nut megaphone it was powerless to resist....that's the real power of wing-nut radio..
