Ranger, after Pujols lollygagging error allowed the runner to second base (runners now on 2nd and third), were you surprised LaChoka pitched to injured Hamilton and Young instead of walking one of them (thus setting up forces all around and double play chance) and getting slumping Beltre to the plate?

Maybe you have to pitch to Hamilton, as walking him puts the Rangers best hitter up in Young with the bases loaded only one out. But after Hamiltons sac fly made it 1-1, to me i walk Young and get to Beltre with a force at any bag. Beltre hits the same ball (speculative i know) and it's a double play.

We just saw Leyland go full re and pitch to Young instead of Beltre and that also was a key in one of Ranger Ricks wins vs Detroit.

Walking Josh would've loaded the bases w/ NO outs.

There's no way you walk Hamilton. That would've been a Multiscioscia move. I agree with what everybody on BBT is saying. LaRussa should've just left Motte in because he likely would've struck Hamilton out or got him to hit a weak grounder.

Rhodes is garbage and hitting a deep fly ball off him is like taking candy from a baby

Still don't understand Wash's moves in this game...for the 2nd one in a row. From his pinch-hitting to his Ogando/Craig rematch to xemurd's beaten-horse point about refusing to move Josh down in the lineup.

He's lucky as over-coaching didn't cost TEX this game. In fact, it took his reg rotation players simply playing THEIR GAME to eek out this ing W at the end, DESPITE him.

What's more impressive the Mavs coming back from being down 15 with like 6 minutes to beat the Heat in game 2 or the Rangers tonight?

I was shocked tonight. I figured going into the top of the 9th that it was looking like it might be over for the Rangers. I can't believe they won. Harrison has got to step up for game 3. And the Rangers' offense has to wake up in Arlington.

It's more or less the same kind of victory. The Heat and Cards blew the lead late in the game and totally collapsed in the end. Rangers head home just like the Mavs with tons of confidence and all the momentum. Amazing game, I want to watch it again already.

I would still say the Mavs easily.

Kins and Andrus did the hard work and then LaRussa handed the Rangers the game by bringing in MultiRhodes

Idk when games get really tense and I'm freaking out over how slow time is going buy, I start pacing in front of the TV. Both the Mavs and the Rangers Game 2's made me do this. I'd agree the Mavs win is more epic because Dirk was just like, "OK this, we're gonna win this " and they went out there and took that ing game man. Rangers got a little help via LaRussa overmanaging.

But damned if that Andrus-to-Kinsler glove toss and photo-finish base tag wasn't something straight out of a baseball movie. I still can't believe they won!

    Duly noted.
Wow that Pujols slacker was enormous.
The stolen base was nails. Glad Mr. Umpire got it right.
I still walk Young to get to Beltre with forces all around.
And Axe i agree leave Motte in.
    Do you then walk Young?

Yeah, then pitch to Beltre with the bases loaded

assuming Hamilton strikes out or grounds out while leaving runners on 2nd or 3rd

I would definitely have left Motte in...he was the only guy with a chance to get strikeouts, which is pretty much all that could have saved them.

Yeah. Little nervous about Holland's next start, though. He already shat himself in both the DS and CS...

So did anybody notice that the Cards fans gave Colby Lewis a standing ovation when he left the mound?

Those classless fans of the _allas Mavericks should take notice

"I promised my wife I'd never set foot in that city again"

    "Drive for 5"

    "chokers led by _irk"

"I once had to work in that 'city' they call Dallas (if you wanna call that hole a city)"

    etc

Fpoon, what are your thoughts on Hamilton?

tbh i'd feel like an asshole to still preach on about sitting him but then again making solid contact off of Arthur Rhodes is so easy even Fabbs could do it.

of course we all know he's gonna play anyway, so i guess it doesn't really matter

Hamilton should be DH'ing or not in the lineup at all right now. Murphy can
play LF and Gentry/Chavez can play CF. Ideally this should have been utilized
for the first 2 games since Hamilton could have potentially pinch hit for the
pitchers in the later innings. According to Wash he's going to field the group
that brought him to the dance come or highwater, so I doubt we'll be seeing
anything different regarding the lineup in the next few games.
