I don't see a single in state or West Coast name on Craven's list. Very encouraging. Texas can't go wrong with Cravens or Marcell Harris. I wouldn't be surprised if Kameron Miles had to wait awhile for an offer.
Oh yeah.... another good point that I overlooked, no west coast schools at all. Salivating!!!

All of the in-state schools and Washington (Lupoi = Polynesian) have offered and he's been to USC for sure, but it doesn't sound like staying close to home is a priority right now. Things obviously change for all prospects as their recruitment gets closer to the end and they start to really think about leaving home. He may visit Nebraska in the spring. Hopefully the staff will feel confident enough in their defensive numbers that they can go balls out for him and Harris and hope to land one.

It may be a bit of a reach on my part, but I'm still not convinced that DB Kameron Miles is being looked at as just a safety. He's already a tad bigger than Jinkens at 16 years old (he may already be 17) and could end up like Cobbs who's big enough to be an OLB, but can also cover Big XII WRs from that position when necessary due to his speed. He's a great talent so I'm hoping the lack of DB numbers doesn't affect him directly, but interested to see what will be said about him after JD2 and if Diaz has a specific plan.

More quotes from QB Tyrone Swoopes (HornsNation):

"As soon as we got out the car, we were walking out of the parking garage," Swoopes said, "and my little brother looks up at the stadium and was like, 'Oh my gosh, I want to go to Texas!' "

"I had already liked them (Texas) a lot from the first time I went down there," he said. "I don't think I could like them any more than I already did. They really want me, and it would be a good opportunity if I did go there."

"He (Mack Brown) just told me that he wanted me pretty bad to go down there," Swoopes said. "They need a quarterback, and he thinks I can help make something big down there with the guys they're getting next year and could get in my class."

"Coach Harsin said I'm going to be compared to Vince Young and Colt McCoy and Cam Newton and all them, but he won't expect any of that from me," Swoopes said. "He'll expect me to be Tyrone Swoopes, that's all."

"I don't really know (about a timeline for a decision), honestly. I don't know," he said. "I'm going to talk to my parents about everything the next couple days. I guess we'll see."

LSU is doing like Bama and offering every OOS guy worth a damn. Surely not even half are commitable offers.
I think Alabama and LSU both have 70+ offers out right now. It's a questionable tactic (although completely legal) that allows them to have several lines out at one time. If the big fish commit, you tell the lesser guys to grayshirt or their offer isn't committable. Allows them to pull in the best class possible year in and year out. Makes you wonder how much they value certain guys since so many are viewed as "Plan B" or even "Plan C" types.

Awesome work TFloss. Do you think we will take 2 RB's this class? If I Wilson commits to Texas, do you see him switching to LSU with all their locker problems? Any news on C. Morgan? I would love for him to get an offer.

    Muchas gracias Floss.

Reports coming out RSJ will likely pick a school as early as within the week and you've got to think Texas is the leader. That could help a lot with Swoopes as well. Would be a nice start getting those two and would help tremendously with the other prospects as well.

Will be interesting next couple weeks.

    No problem.

I'm with you and 24/7 that RSJ's quick decision could influence Swoopes. It was reported he asked about RSJ's commitment status a handful of times on Sunday and may have pulled the trigger if Seals-Jones would have. Still working on my comments but I have some more on that in there.

1.) The plan appears to be Hicks/D. Wilson and then shut it down, but I don't think they're set on two should their original plan not work out.

2.) On I. Wilson, your dream school is your dream school (see Daje, Santos and Cottrell). I fear LSU can slow-play him for months and then scoop him up whenever they feel like it much like Texas has done with certain guys. It's been said LSU may have dropped the ball a bit with Wilson by not offering at the last Junior Day, but it's usually easy to forgive your childhood favorite. It's a sure bet that Searels understands what he's up against but will stay on him with a "Plan B" in his back pocket.

3.) Nothing on Morgan, unfortunately. He's a great TE prospect but Texas simply likes other guys more at this time.

Possibly an out-of-state name to keep an eye on. Claims Texas may offer.

OG/C, Brandon Kublanow, Walton (Marietta, GA) (6-3, 290)
    http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/footbal...ublanow-129249

According to Kublanow, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are recruiting him the hardest. Of the schools that haven't offered, he thinks Alabama, Tennessee or Texas could be next to do so. Asked if he had any top schools at the moment, Kublanow replied, "I wouldn't say so. I have schools I like a lot, but I wouldn't make a top five or anything."

Quote from DT Justin Manning to OUInsider. UT has some work to do:

“It was good (Texas Junior Day),” said Manning. “It really wasn’t that exciting. It was all business and it wasn’t that fun. It was just all business and it really wasn’t fun at all. I like Texas ‘OK’, but I don’t think too much about them right now. They are all pretty equal when it comes to my colleges right now and the visit to Texas was just ‘OK’.

Sounds like time to write Manning off. Usually I don't take quotes too much to heart especially when it is to a rival teams reporter. But something that negative sounds like beyond an uphill battle.

Update on five-star S Su'a Cravens...saw two different articles on Rivals today that link him to Texas. He's said that he has spoken with both Mack and Akina (not sure how many times) and he does want to take an official to Texas. He's also friends with Mack on Facebook which tells us there's a serious interest there as these coaches don't add random players.

"My official visits I know I'm going to are Arkansas, Florida, Michigan, Texas, and I'm not sure where my fifth visit will be to."

Don't be deceived by lack of Cali visits on list for Su'a. He's already been on USC campus and he's only 90 minute drive away. Dude supposedly grew up a USC fan and his favorite player is Polamalu. He's a longshot. If he doesn't official there, it will simply be because he will do an unofficial and/or summer camp there (USC summer camp is pretty big).

If he doesn't do officials in Cali smart money is he sees those as short drive and wants to save the paid official visits for visits far away.

don't mean to be a wet blanket, but i've never seen a guy make comments about a visit being simply OK and not fun, then commit to that school. and i've been following recruiting for quite some time.

maybe a 10 win season and a win over OU could get us back in the race, and bo davis is obviously a top recruiter. but if you aren't at least somewhat excited during a visit, i wouldn't expect a second. time will tell - first times for everything.
