Not really. Duncan's FIBA stats are superior to Kirby's, who couldn't even manage 50% shooting against Third World countries and got toasted by Rudy Fernandez in the Gold Medal game. Also, Gold Medals are team accomplishments, demonstrated by the fact Kirby was carried by Lebron and Wade.
What he also fails to realize is that the greatest FIBA player of all-time is a Spur.

Kobe's career shooting percentage: 45.4%.Question of the day: Is he a 1st ballot HOFer? If your answer is yes, WGAF about his shooting percentages, if the HOF voters won't? Simply put, you're wasting your time trolling about his shooting percentages. It gets a few laughs on ST, but it's essentially futile for you to continue putting it into your argument.
Agreed on team accomplishments. In 2004, they won Bronze as a team. They say a picture is word a 1,000 words:
Where is Kobe in ^ photo? You know, the one that features not only LeBron and Wade (who "carried Kobe to Gold in 212"), but also Tim
thy Duncan. So you can say he was carried by LBJ and Wade all you want, but history shows that LBJ and Wade did not win Gold until Kobe.
Kobe 2 Gold Medals. No Bronze Medals. Can you say the same about LBJ, Wade, or TD?![]()
Most NBA players see an increase in their shooting percentage when they play international ball. James and Wade shot near 60% and 70% respectively. Kevin Durant shot 57% in the 2012 games. The fact Kirby can't break 50% shooting in international play is pathetic.
And yeah, Wade and James were on the '04 team, but they hardly played. Larry Brown instead choosing to go with A.I., Starbury, and even Richard Jefferson.
Also worth mentioning is that Kirby's "Doberman Defense" constantly gets shredded in the gold medal game. Once again he was outplayed by his Spanish counterpart. This time it was J.C. Navarro, who went off for 21 on him.
Kobe's a below average FIBA player. Deal with it.
Worth mentioning is that Kirby has nightmares about Juan Carlos Navarro.
Destroyed him in this game, too.
Lol at Kobe's "Doberman Defense" at the 2:10 mark.
