Anyone else surprised he didn't use GOD in that post?![]()
Nothing I love more than religious fanaticism being thrown into my sports talk. Frankly, I'm not sure I'm cool with a god who spends time caring about professional sports. Plenty of in the world that could be taken care of before ensuring the prayers of some young fans who started watching in April are answered.
Or to quote an internet truth, "God is in the bathtub, enjoying some private time. Let him be."
Anyone else surprised he didn't use GOD in that post?![]()
Tony Allen's supposed faith should have prevented him from flopping at the end of game 2, and humbly accepted that it was not a flagrant foul.
Thats what I'm saying. I was expecting the bible quotes to get thrown around.
Tony Allen faith isn't going to make him a decent shooter, tbh... it wouldn't be out of the realm that the Spurs take the foot off the gas in Game 4... but this ain't going past 5...
Bah!
Can't blame their fans for being upset and at the same time proud and hopeful...just go to the "doom and gloom" threads here after the Spurs game 2 loss at home to GS and you will see the same thing.
Get this series over ASAP and avoid any injury. Sure, the Spurs may get a bit rusty, but I will take rusty over injured any day of the week.
It's all fine and dandy to think that God chooses sides in the NBA playoffs if that's where your faith takes you, but where on Earth does anyone get the idea that the Spurs have been "exalting themselves"? Spurs fans have been exalting the Spurs (and themselves by extension in some cases), but the Spurs that I hear from and see have done an outstanding job at keeping things humble, respected the opponent, acknowledged their good fortune to be where they are right now, and don't seem to be taking anything for granted -- all while being understandably thrilled with what they've accomplished to this point.
I remember those times too, for what its worth. I also remember when the 35 and 31 were good enough, somehow, to qualify for the playoffs and offer a ticket to being absolutely curbstomped by the Showtime Lakers.
Spurs players have always been humble, have you seen any stupid celebrations from them? a la landry?? no of course not. Any team has bad fans.
Looking forward to reading the boards once they are eliminated.
This x10000000000. I saw a political cartoon that I'm failing to find the source for, that depicted god being approached by an angel who says, and I'm paraphrasing, "Also, there are a few members of a species in a place called 'South Carolina' that are asking your favor in a sports match..."
I fail to see what's so funny about it. First of all it's not over yet. Good for them to be ready to believe until the last second of the last game. I'd do that for sure if the Spurs were in the same position. Second, they are right that most Spurs fans are spoiled and there's a healthy amount of bandwagoners here as well or fans who seem to take delight in seeing the Spurs lose or one of the players struggle. And although there are some great takes to be read on SpursTalk, there are a bunch of ty ones as well, and clueless posters are aplenty.
Every team has its share of heartbreak (except the Fakers), we were right there last year...

Good grief will someone please tell Spurs fans that they haven't been a real le contender since they lost guys like Horry/Bowen and stopped being a shutdown defensive team. I'm not trying to say that they can't win but the amount of arrogance that they show with their aging roster every single year is unbelievable.Yeah, but these guys are just plain ignorant! Atleast the Clippers fans had a reason to be y. They were beating the snot out of us and they have two superstar caliber players. They were just a flawed team. What is so special about the Spurs talent? They keep saying stuff like they have twice as much talent. I don't see any All-Star starters over there! I agree Parker is a bad man and Duncan is still a good player. Ginobili is washed up as and everybody knows it. I like how our big three of Gasol-Zbo-Conley are playing better than their big three right now but it's close. Then they talk about their depth. The role players like Leonard, Green, Splitter, Diaw, Neal, Bonner etc...what makes this group so much better than TA, Prince, Pondexter, Darrell, Bayless, Davis? Looks pretty even too me. What a bunch of fools.
Then they said they want to get the Grizzlies fat-***** tired...has anyone ever seen Z-bo get tired of banging? San Antonio fans must be confusing our players with their womencostarica2

The thing I don't get is kawhi leonard he is doing what Q is doing for us yet they think he is some type of superstar.
''Kawhi is gonna destroy Prince''<<<Stuff like this is what I don't get.Quote all of these guys and ask them if now they understand why some of us were so confident.Father Pat
Spurs will be swept if they play the Grizzlies like they did the Warriors.
They can say what they want. From what I've seen this Spurs team is in trouble. Splitter should be in foul trouble most of this series and will be a non-factor. Manu's play against the Warriors has him looking like he is ready for the rocking chair. Parker played like he was thinking more about a teammates wife than beating the Warriors. Pop pulled Duncan during crunch time last game in favor of Splitter.
This. I can also write you this poster's post script after we win: "It was just God's plan for us not to win".
They call our roster old and tired, and then wonder why people say Kawhi is destroying Prince, who is old and tired.
"Remember the ravenous Grizzlies we saw in the first quarter yesterday? Those were Grizzlies with fire in their eyes, and the Grizzlies we will see the next four games.
An animal is never more dangerous than when it is injured."
this gave me my daily dose of lol
If that is true, why hasn't anyone come back from 3-0 down
maybe we should ask D-Rose.
It makes me laugh to hear that their fans think they have even the most remote chance to come back and win 4 straight games against a team that has won 10 of 12 quarters and 2 of 2 overtimes.![]()
DFlory is a mega spurs fan from SA. We've been spurs fans for 30+ years.

Sure they could win a game, but it's pretty pointless since they won't win game 5 in SA.
