Personally, while I don't use a case on my 5s, I really like the simple, snap-on clear cases like the SwitchEasy Nude. Although it appears they don't have a plus size yet.

Viewing angles aren't gonna matter to him if his screen is smudged with fingerprints. We in the family are team matte, whether it's an iOS or Android portable device. I would never use gloss either

I haven't tried using it in direct sunlight
