Pop doesn't give a if they lose in the 1st round either.
Agreed, which is why he doesn't give a about the first seed.

CROFL.. like it would have mattered with the way they are playing right now
That is true, but also I think the thing is, I don't think any of the other top contenders care that much if the Spurs got/get a higher seed than them. If Goldenstate had any fear of the Spurs whatsoever with homecourt advantage, they probably wouldn't have rested all their players. IMO, I think the other contenders feel they can beat the Spurs with or without home court.

Do you think when Golden was in its semi funk and 5 of 7 loss streak that if the Spurs had continued winning and overtaken them, the meltdown and infighting could have been extended?
Cementhead starting LMA right after the heart arrhythmia and 1st game back having him hork up 24 shots in 32 minutes. Mostly bricks and killed ball movement. I know it's speculation, but do you think if Spurs kept winning and overtook State, the Golden gots funk could have continued?

NBA is a game of matchups, OKC and Clips always give the Spurs issues, while the Dubs might beat the Spurs at times they aren't the matchup nightmare. Just like typically the Grizz give the Dubs more issues than they usually give the Spurs. Style of play thing, the Cavs are built to stop the Dubs, but would have a worse time against the Spurs. Rock, paper scissors. Great for stopping one but useless against the other.

Although I do buy into match-ups, I don't think any of the other contenders are even remotely scared of the Spurs. I'm pretty sure most of them probably think they can beat the Spurs with or without home court advantage. The Warriors, for example, when they rested those guys and gave up the tie breaker to the Spurs, I don't think they cared about getting home court over the Spurs. They probably don't even expect the Spurs to get there to face them, whereas, I think if it was another team like Cleveland, the Rockets, or someone else, I think they would have played their guys in the game as they would want home court over those teams.

You may be right. But they don't need to be scared to catch that L.

2014 our record against the other so-called elite teams was not good, + going 7 games with Dallas in Round 1? Surely other contenders weren't scared. We didn't look like the machine we saw come WCF/Finals.

We haven't had a long stretch where enough of our guys play well at the same time, so we haven't looked dominant much this year. All we can hope for is they put it together in some of these games down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Giving away such easily the #1 seed when we need any advantage we can get just to have a chance against golden state in the playoff, it's pathetic, could cost us like gaving up the #2 seed in 2015 with the pelicans loss...

The difference is that the Spurs easily finished 1st in 2014. And IMO teams were much more scared (even if that fear factor wasn't high) of that team coming off of the 2013 finals run than this current Spurs team. Out of the past 3 Spurs teams, and especially after last season, I don't think there is any fear whatsoever against this current squad. It's easily the least intimidating out of the past 3 teams.

I also don't see why Pop doesn't care about home court considering the difference between 2013 and 2014, where home court may have made the difference in the finals. The Spurs clearly pushed for home court in 2014 after having to play games 6 and 7 at Miami in the 2013 finals. I think Pop has mailed it in since then. Clearly that was a priority back then. I don't understand why it hasn't been since then.
