They use him effectively on the read option and he is getting better at running when they go 5 wide. He reminds me a lot of Big Ben with his toughness minus the rape.
A lot better athlete than Big Ben, and yep...tough. That one run he made bouncing off everyone, a classic. Not enough read options, this guy can scoot 30 yards, a legit runner.

What a great time ro have Dak with the East the mess is it. he's the best QB in the division as is.

I'm not the first to notice this, it does appear Zeke isn't AS explosive as he was. You notice this?

Yeah idk what they fed Leighton up there in Idaho but I didn’t think too highly of that pick.

What a beast tbh. Glad I was wrong.

How is Vander Esch so good? I mean I knew he was raw and had promising upside coming out of Boise but how the is he leading the league in tackles already?

He gave a lot of credit to Sean Lee for mentoring him on and off the field, but I think he will surpass Lee easily and some former players are comparing him to Brian Urlacher.

While in HS Vander Esch ran a 54 something 400m, he also ran the hurdles. A member of the 4x1, 4x4 teams. While he wasn't all that as a track guy, he was all that as a linebacker as a track guy. He spend years working on his endurance as a track guy, this is unique fir a linebacker. He was also a running back who gained over 1300 yards in a HS season. I do doubt he was as big then as he would become at Boise State, but he will always have benefited from that training in track.

    He has ran a 4.65 40 recently.

I get it's early, but the kid looks pretty awesome right now. So either figure out to use Lee in tantum or trade him.

Lee should just become the linebackers coach in all honesty.

But when he comes back I don't see why him, Smith, and Vander Esch all three can't be on the field at the same time.

Totally agree about getting all of them out there in tandum

    Zeke

That was 4 times state hurdles champ.

All these NFL RB's have some amazing HS videos. Derrick Henry;s has a grown man playing with little kids.

    On Sean Lee:

He does average over 10 games a season of high quality elite LB play. How can you dump that?

LVE with the fastest rise to s om that I've ever seen from a Cowboys defensive player.. He struck marketing gold too by going with the "Wolf Hunter" nickname, because now he has an easily recognizable celebration that kids and grown ups alike will love, it's easy for the PA guy to pump wolf howls into the stadium after he makes plays, etc.. This will lead to a lot more money for him.

Vander Esch is 2nd in the NFL in tackles as a rookie and is already getting announced last during warmups.. His entrance comes complete with howling, and his celebration with all his teammates doing it. He's basically Ray Lewis at this point. Unbelievable job from the Cowboys scouts seeing this potential before the draft

Did you expect any less from him though? He has proven in his 3 years that he is not a smart player off the field, now he's proving the same on the field. Taco Charlton is just as big, and makes plays whenever he gets the chance. It's time to bench Gregory and send him a strong message. Jason Garrett needs to hold him accountable.

they know they didn't need that game and it showed.
This isn't true. Every game is needed to secure the 1 seed. Playing the NFC Championship in the dome vs. playing it in the Coliseum would make all the difference.

Yeah the Saints just got outplayed. No excuses. Cowboys defense dominated the entire game.

Odd seeing level-headed non-bias talk regarding football. Props to you.

Dallas defense is scary, but their offensive scheme is terrible. Every time 1st and 10 came up I knew a Zeke rush was coming. When you do something every single time, the opposing defense can easily plan and stuff it. Idiotic.

I think Dallas sealed the division with that win, and with that D and their soul-draining 9 minute drives they might actually make noise in the post season.

You're completely wrong there. Charlton isn't particularly athletic, doesn't get off blocks and has largely been a bust (though I didn't want to draft him in the first place, was an overdraft tbh)... has at ude issues and has 1 sack on the season, 4 total in his career so far. Gregory, on the other hand, has the Von Miller explosive first step, runs a 4.46 forty, and pursues and tackles ballcarriers from behind. Has 4 sacks this year mostly playing situational pass rusher only. Gregory is a stud at RE/ROLB but he's basically a rookie out there due to all the suspensions.

The dome is the golden ticket, but let's not act like LAR has some significant home field advantage, because they don't. If the Cowboys played there this playoffs, you'd think the Cowboys were at home considering the majority of their fanbase is in SoCal already

Byron Jones ranked the #1 man cover corner in the NFL. Mostly held down the great Michael Thomas last night

Cowboys have the #1 LB corps by adjusted tackle percentage

Safeties remain an Achilles' heel, IMO. Jeff Heath is NOT the answer.

I don't give a how physically gifted Gregory is when he's hurting you the way he did. Tell me, with his "Von Miller" like athleticism, what has that amounted to this season? Gregory put us in position to blow the game and nothing he's bringing to the game otherwise is "can't win without". What makes things worse is the fact that Gregory is largely amounting to nothing this season and he's got D-Law on the other side getting the double teams.

It's a reference to Cash Money Records.. not gy at all.. and spurraider21 has a point
