That's fine. They were a couple million over when they announced the deal, and had to make a move to sign him and keep rights to match offer sheets for Oubre. I don't know who else they got rid of, but if they actually signed Rubio then they cleared that $2-3 Million some other way. That still doesn't fix their issue with Oubre.
They can go over the cap to sign Oubre with his Bird rights. I'm sure if they made him a good offer, they would have made a deal Sunday. I think Dallas may be the only team who could make him the kind of offer he was hoping for, and he knows it. It sounds like Phoenix is trying to play hardball with him. I forgot what the required QO was - something like $4-$5M. He can always take that and be unrestricted next year, but I would think Phoenix would try to get something out of him with an S&T deal.

Damn, so it is. It's been a bad day on Olympus.![]()
Beli, mills, and 1st sign and trade for Oubre![]()
Almost certain it's Faried, tbh.
Patty Mills isn’t getting traded unless it was in a package for a real difference maker. Stop.
Midnight out here.
Nah, ... I just saw what Phoenix has been up to. They traded Josh Jackson, a #4 overall pick, to Memphis for Korver and a third string PG - just so they could then waive Korver to make room for that Ricky Rubio signing.
The Suns' management is too stupid for words. They're gonna piss around and push Oubre into taking the QO, and lose him for nothing next year. I was looking for logic, but it doesn't live in Phoenix. Oubre for Belli and Mills was always a Fantasy Island thing anyway.
Gallo is on a contract year, OKC will certainly not want contracts like Mills' back. They'll want picks or youngsters on friendly contracts only.
Denver isn't much better. For those who don't remember the deal with Lyles:
Utah drafted Lyles with the 12th pick overall. Two years later, they used him to move up in the draft. Utah sent Lyles and the 24 pick to Denver, in exchange for the 13 pick - which is how they got Donovan Mitc . Now, just two years later, Denver waived Lyles and sent him packing.
A couple of years earlier, Denver drafted Rudy Gobert and sent him off to Utah in exchange for cash and a future second round pick.
, maybe we really should pick up Lyles, just because Denver thinks he isn't worth anything.

And beli is still better than Korver anyway
Why would you dump him. He’s slated to be an end of the bench guy not getting hardly any minutes this year.
If they're looking for a forward who can shoot, they should have just kept Bertans and used the MLE on Morris straight up.
they wanted carroll and it was impossible to know at the onset of FA that morris would be had for the MLE
Because he gets paid way too much to be an "end of the bench guy not getting hardly any minutes", tbh.
Also, I'm sure he will be the first guy off the bench and will get his 22/25 minutes per game.
Theyve already agreed hes to be at the end of the bench. He’s ready to support and lead in any way pop asks. White Murray and walker are getting minutes.
Also, what does it matter how much they pay him to be there? Why do you care?
You do understand Bertans stinks at defense and also, Carroll and Morris shoot threes. Also carroll and Morris are better players.
I'll believe it when I see it. Can I call you out on this if Mills gets his usal 22/25 minutes?
I care because it eats up cap space that could be used on more useful players. Also, what does it matter how much they pay him to be there? Why do you care?
The meeting done yet ? Some info
You can do whatever you want I don’t give a . I trust the guy sitting in the exit meetings telling me what was said.
so it’s about money jealousy with you. Figured. Not a serious person. Sorry I wasted time on this pointless excercise.
Its 2 in the ing morning. I’m not waking him up to satisfy bozos on a message board.
Lol inside sauces. Troll hard don’t we
They wouldn't have traded him away if his game weren't flawed. Despite his quick release and accuracy, Bertans' defense was too much of a trade-off for PATFO. Guy simply lacks muscle to guard the brawny 3s, more so power forwards. Signing Morris wouldn't have enabled them to sign Carroll.
"Money jealousy"? The is that?
Dude, did you even get what I said?
It's not about jealousy or whatever the you said it was. It's about the Spurs being as good as possible. And the Spurs could be a whole lot better if instead of having 12 millions per year going to "an end of the bench guy" they could spend it on a real 12 millions per year guy like a Robert Covington or Danny Green. Simple as that. I want the Spurs to be as good as possible. Do you get it now? It's really not a difficult concept to get, tbh.
