the Spurs are literally starting one of the Top 5 worst back courts in the NBA together with the worst starting PF in the NBA alongside of DeMar DeRozan and a 34-year old LaMarcus Aldridge and people wonder why they are losing games

Watched the game with a magic fan and he was disgusted by the flangant call. Also like usual, DD is by far our best player and ST s on him. LMA again failed. Murray again poor. Lyle's again gives no defensive stats.

I don’t know who would be happy about this. Not even the usual “I told you so” posters.

It’s bad and we aren’t even getting the silver linings we expected of Murray/White/Lonnie on top of possibly missing the playoffs while not building for the future

Well, this franchise is officially in the gutter. Horrible roster, horrible coaching, and no hope for the foreseeable future. What a dumpster fire.

Why are you guys blaming DeMar when it was Pop's long-ass play that was wasting all the time? I expected this game thread to be mad at Pop's play but instead people are mad at DeMar for running Pop's play?

    Weird timeline we're in, folks.
You want so bad to jump on the edgelord side but you keep fighting it by taking cute pot shots instead.

Let it go man. No matter which way you try to spin the logic, the bottom line is Pop needs to go (it’s time), and Derozen too (he sucks, bad).

Is there even anyone worth tanking for? I don’t know about the current college prospects. Gotta be some kind of talent out there that can help us I suppose. Can’t get worse than this tbh.

    What a dumpster fire.
Actually, it's far worse than a dumpster fire - it's more like a nuclear catastrophe. We're the Chernobyl of the NBA, Pop is Dyatlov, and our best players are cancer mutants.

Meh - if it drives Pop to an early retirement, these embarrassing losses will be worth it. The Spurs have young guys that are still good, they just need a new coach that can give them a chance and get the best out of them. This Jerry Sloan clone ain't it.

This sucks because so far this upcoming draft is looking pretty weak though it will have quite a few PG which worries me as Poop always selects one before much needed SF/SG/PF

34-10 free throws and a fake flagrant call

Pop will blame this loss on the free throws and start the same line up next game

We suck and the pups aren’t getting better & no significant playing time/reps. That’s the worst part. I’m cool if we suck as long as the pups are developing. Talking about Murray, White, Walker, Metu. Definitely not Bryn, he’s not an actual NBA player on any other roster

I left at the half. Told my wife they would find a way to lose this game.

The Spurs shot 50.6% overall (compared to 40.4% for Orlando), and 50% from 3P, and only had 11 Turnovers. That's usually enough to guarantee a win.

But Orlando went to the line 34 times, compared to 10 for the Spurs. And the Spurs STILL would have taken it to O/T if they hadn't shot 60% from the line. (Orlando shot 80%, on 24 more attempts.) You can't blame that all on refs. That's a team playing ty defense, and reaching.

0 minutes for Carroll, Walker, and Metu? I guess Pop showed them.

It doesn't matter if we get a lottery pick, even if we got a top 5 pick, pop would have them in Austin for 2-3 years, his system is old, broken trash, he has no one but himself to blame and the team as constructed and coached is unwatchable.

Well people can complain all they want, but I'm going to the game and rooting on the Spurs tomorrow because I'm not a fair-weather fan..........and it would be impossible to sell my tickets to anyone with them playing like this.

    21 minutes for white
    20 for Murray

maybe limited minutes for white due to him playing more minutes tomorrow since Murray will be out?

im sorry but the Forbes starting lineup experiment needs to end. I’m getting sick and tired of him being completely useless on D when someone bigger (everyone in the NBA besides Patty) is on him. It’s getting beyond tiresome.

I guess defensive minded Pop is completely dead?? It’s truly sad. It’s the thing I respected most about him was how much he focused on the defense. The opposite of Dantoni. It was great it was the Spurs way. A defensive powerhouse, boring but effective. What happened to that? And you can’t just say well look at the roster we have. Pop can put a better defensive lineup out there.

The most glaring and obvious is White and Murray. Should be the best defensive backcourt in the NBA but we haven’t seen that and I fear we never will because Pop is so concerned about spacing. I don’t know how guys like Green, Bowen, Jefferson, Khawi, all became great 3 pt shooters under Pop but yet he can’t push Derozan to improve in that part of his game. Is Derozan that unwilling or does Pop treat him differently because of his depression stuff??? I truly thought year 2 was going to unveil a new Derozan with a 3 pt threat. That would change everything as far as the starting lineup goes. You can then get away with white/Murray combo with Derozan as a 3pt threat.

LMA has been pretty good on D when he tries and I’m liking Lyles hustle on the boards.

Anyways he just doesn’t look like the same Pop. His obsession with Marco (worst defender in the team) proves that.

And the whole Carroll ordeal is completely bizarre.

Ya I don't get the asking for tank when you got coach pop in charge. unless he's a number one pick coach will most likely force that draft pick to go thru 1yr of not playing penance.

Bryn Forbes 29 minutes 1 assist 1 rebound. There’s so many ways to utilize him better rather than playing him 27 minutes a game and letting him get exposed. There’s not a NBA team where Forbes would be a starter and averaging 27 minutes.
This started 2 years ago and I complained a ton then but eventually got tired. He should not be starting and playing this many minutes. Not his fault Pop has him overmatched every night all game.

Kinda needs to start though with him being the only consistent 3pt shooter and, we really don't need a Mills, Forbes, Belinelli bench trio in our lives.

Once Murray is able to play more minutes, Pop should move Mills to PG (nominally, at least) and have White back up Forbes.

    Murray- 28 mpg/ Mills-20 mpg
    Forbes-20 mpg/ White- 28 mpg
