The clemency grants have wiped out almost $200 million in financial penalties, some of which were destined for victims of wrongdoing.

The founder and CEO of a Las Vegas-based prisoner reentry program who was pardoned by President Trump in 2020 has been arrested for "sexually based crimes," police said Tuesday.

Jon Donyae Ponder, a three-time felon who led Hope for Prisoners, was arrested for sexual assault-related charges, Las Vegas police said in a statement.

"Detectives believe there may be additional victims in the community," police said.

Ponder, who appeared alongside Trump at the 2020 Republican National Convention, was later booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of sexual assault, seven counts of unauthorized custodial contact, one count of attempted coercion and 11 gross misdemeanor charges, police said.
